    Movie: THE HOBBIT

Took the family to the 8:40pm showing last night.

The CGI in places was less than superior

There were a few places we were chuckling due to the gholam

The dragon scene seemed chaotic and lacked spirit

Some of the same effects in the "Rings" were used in the hobbit. for example, ghandolph was seated around with the dwarfs. to get their attention, he stood up, his face went dark, as well as the room.

Many of the characters were not very well developed.

There was alot of chasing and fighting, and the effects were less than supurb.

All in all, the film lacked passion and spirit. The CGI seemed rushed and slapped together, something we might expect from a lower budget film. With all the marketing hype and millions spent on advertising, this movie clearly failed to live up to expectations.

    I'd rate this movie "So~So"

I was afraid of that after seeing the commercials for the movie. They too were less than stellar. And after doing so well with the franchise 3 movies one would think that they would stick with what works and not go cheap. Sounds to me like someone was just wanting to make a fast buck on the coattails of a great trilogy. Sad. I'll now wait till it comes to redbox.

Thats the problem. One book strecthed into 3 movies and people forget the hobbit was geared more towards children then lotr

its just so hard not to compare to lotr and in reality we should now be watching fellowship of the ring instead of the hobbit

So is the Hobbit a childrens movie? If so that makes more sense why we don't enjoy it as well as LOTR

agree. the movie even ended poorly.

that one book does not seem to have enough material for three 2.5 hour movies.

The Hobbit was a great little book and less than half the length of the first LOTR book.

Yet Jackson is spinning this tiny book over three fvcking films? Wow, talk about whoring the franchise out for as much money as possible. Everyone has to wait 5-6 years for The Hobbit to end???

It was a great book but the market is big enough for him to make the films and people are going to watch it regardless...kinda like those stupid step up movies
