best time to buy certified vehicle or new?
i am in the market of getting a newer vehicle. i currently have a 2006 Acura TL that is in great shape. i had to buy it because my truck (Chevy Z71) engine blew up on me and had to find something quick. my question is, when is the best time of the year to purchase a new or certified vehicle? i am in the market for a truck, because i am not a car person at all, first one i have ever had. just wondering what some of yall opinions and expericences have been like. thanks

always the end of any month. The dealers are trying to hit their numbers.
Or if you dont mind a left over wait to the new years model comes out and get a left over.If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

My father always told me to never buy anyone elses used piece of shlt, so my advice is to buy new vs. used cause you will be able to know what the vehicle has been through.

Well I have to disagree on this one unless you have the funds and that's not an issue. If you are mechanically inclined it's not hard to tell if a car has been abused or not and if you are not it only cost about $50 to have a decent inspection done where.
You can easily save 4-5K buying a car that is only 2 years old vs new if not more in most cases. I would not buy from a dealer in most cases though if for no other reason just knowing how they rip off whoever traded it in and how much they mark it up for resale and pay some kid $20 to do a 1hr detail it.
Bottom line it all depends on what you have to spend I guess and your comfort zone.

Best time to buy a car is Oct-Dec. They are pushing out all the old and getting in the new. The only time I would personally buy a used car is a "demo" model. Its the car the bosses and sales people drive from time to time. Normally those cars only have 5-6K miles on them. Could they have been beat on? Sure but with only 6K really how much damage is going to be done? Me personally I always buy new.

Actually- February/March if you are buying a GM/Chrysler/Ford.
Reason being is the biggest auto show is in January. That's where they will show off the next- generation of vehicle models. Right after the auto-show they issue the largest rebates. I work for GM but I just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee because they had smoking rebates on them. Nobody wants a 2013 truck if the 2014 version is different and comes out in a few months. I bought a 2013 Overland Summit- $53K MSRP. Paid $39,400.00 out the door.

Cajun... what kind of truck are you trying to buy exactly? I can help you get it the cheapest way possible if its a GM.

Oh- well I believed they just changed them so they don't have anything new coming out for 2014 on those. You're probably safe to buy one now then and try to jump on year-end rebates/deals. Typically those things have HUGE rebates ($5K +) but only when they release a new version.

I can give you "Friends and Family" on GM but it will only save you a couple thousand.
