    Heading to the hills!

As some of you might know, my family and i are kinda crazy hillbilly type. Well, my family actually. They're a little off.

Anyway, My wife and i are heading to the hills of very Eastern Kentucky at 7:00am and will arrive at Noon. At that time my Uncle is putting a gun in my hands to go hunting. When i asked "what are we hunting?" His response was "you'll find out when you get here." When i asked "what kind of gun?" He said "30:6 and you'll have fun."

So, here's to having fun w/a gun i know know nothing about! hahaha..And, he's so deep in the woods, there's no internet and i know for a fact my phone gets no signal.

Wish me luck in whatever he has in store!

    Already missing civilization!

If i could i would get away to the country every so often. The tranquility and peacefulness is priceless.

I get sick and tired of the rat race of city life. Try and appreciate your time out there as much as you can. Me personally when you return u feel like a different man, technology and the way we live in the city has caught us up on things we take for granted. The little things in life!

I love bring people to desolate areas where they can't call for help.

Depends how you look at it. Some might call it an adventure.

I hate when Burt Reynolds starts whining about his leg in that movie. Its like watching an anime where someone gets kicked in the balls and their eyes bug out.

Good luck stpete and I hope you are not someone they consider an outcast or dont like you for some reason but they only want to have some good ole fun.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun but I hope they show you how to use the 30:6 first. It does have a little kick so be sure to hold it squarely on the shoulder or you will be telling us about your bruise later. lol Not strong enough to knock it out though. Probably going to find some little buck to bring home for dinner. See if they make you drink the blood if it's your first kill. lol I had fun learning how to gut, skin, quarter, cure and then cut into steaks, chops, ham/deer burger and jerky.

hahaha....Actually, my uncle had bluegrass playing in his truck when we were heading out. I don't much like the shit but it was his truck so i didn't say anything. Plus, he's about 6'6 and weighs in about 340.

Anyway, he controls a bunch of property that his parents looked after for a long time. He just recently bought the property. 80 acres of nothing. He had targets set up and we challenged each other as to who who could get the better shot. He even equipped mine w/a scope. I didn't too good. I only managed to hit a guy's leg while he blew his head off. Then he had a pack of wolves set up and threw a grenade. I never knew that a grenade had such power. Wiped out everything.

But i did come home w/my grandfathers 12 gauge. Said he always wanted me to have it. I know i'll never use it but it's nice to have.

    Good times.

And yeah, we ate plenty of pinto beans, cornbread and collard greens! No banjo in Grandma's!

Sounds like good times. Where the hell did he get a grenade? Those are the people who are going to save us when sh*t hits the fan.

I remember when my dad took me out to teach me to shoot a handgun when I was 13. HE couldnt hit the side of a barn but I kept hitting the beer bottle on the fence post and backing up farther. He was surprised but I wasnt. I shot a bb gun since I was 10 and was damn good. lol it sort of came natural to me also.

BTW glad to see you made it back.
