    is gear really worth it?

looking at current pics of Lou and Arnold ... makes a person whats the point of getting jacked. and going through the mental mind fuk of long time use. only to look like a old frail man. Dr chisler looks better then these guys ...

then you look at frank Zane and he still has a better body then most people in my gym lol and the dudes like 80

maybe all the 18 year olds that wanna do heaps of drugs should look at the bigger picture, of course it wont happen , but when u open your eyes. everything we do seems like a giant waste of time in the bigger scheme of things.

If Arnold was to cycle again he would look amazing again. Most of those guys have great genes along with a lot of science.

Different things become important as you get older. It happens to everyone. Who in their right mind would want to be dedicated like that for their whole entire life.

Couldn't disagree more with everything you said OP.

Not sure where to start even. What you're saying would kind of be like arguing with Elvis Presley that hes going to be fat and die of prescription drugs in the end so none of it was worth it.

You ask a very good honest question. Unfortunately only you can decide in the end if it's worth it or not. If you get the gains you are striving for without it, I'd stick to what works and save your money. But unfortunately most need help getting the gains they want/need to feel look better. I know I do....

This part I agree with. When your dik don't work, your hair is falling out and you have the joints of an 80 year old man (talking to young aas users here) you will realize it wasn't worth it.

First of all proper use should not result in any mind, If you think Lou ferrigno looks like an aids patient put the bong down, and if you think frank Zane was natty stop now. Everyone gets old, you can't keep hitting the juice hard and killing it in the gym when your 70. Obviously these guys are not gonna look like they did in there prime in there elderly years.

I would be just fine looking like Arnie, Lou or Sly at their ages!!!! Remember these guys are old enough that the majority of their peers are in power chairs and eating baby food! How amny 70 year old guys do you know with the muscle mass of any of them????

Its the fact that these guys were the best at there sport. If you asked them if they would do it again, im sure 99.9% would say they would.

They knew they had the potential to the the best, even if it meant inevitably crumbling away to nothing but an old man. In the end, its about keeping positive i would rather have a mind set of positiveness than be trying to think outside the box of negativeness. Knowing that im going to grow old and end up in a box, with nothing to show for myself in my life except i worked, i payed my taxes possibly had a family and cared for the ones i love.

There are people out there like arnie, lou, that refuse to think like this, cause they knew this would lead them no where! Who wants to live a life thinking oh screw it in the end im going to be worthless.

I find threads like these absolutely stupid, completely void of any sensible logic. We ALL grow old and from what I see, Arnold, Stallone, Frank Zane, Lou, and many others all look incredible for their ages! Stallone doesn't look his age at all, and i'd like to see the majority of 70+ yeard olds look the way Arnold or Sly does. Fact of the matter is most 70+ year olds are in frail dying condition requiring home care, walkers, most of them have debilitating oesteoperosis, and have to eat their food through a straw, much less continue to pump iron in a gym!! All of these former bodybuilders are aging very gracefully if you ask me, despite the fact that a lot of them may also possess arthritis and other inevitable conditions of aging.

    This thread is stupid

All depends on your motivation to get into bodybuding in the first place, for me I love it and my life would not be the same without it. So how is that a waste of time when I'm doing what I love, I am at my happiest almost euphoric when working out in the gym, ill never give that up..

As far as young people and steroid abuse, it's all because of people lifting for poor reasons, the wrong motivation....

i never claimed frank zane to be natural. hence his nick name "the chemist" but for a dude at his age he looks a lot better then the two others i mentioned.

and threads like this are not stupid, reason being alot of people feel need to run high doses of gear year round. and don't compete or have the gene pool to really benifiet from it. Yes they do.. so really... is it worth it in the end? yes it comes down to each person and life style choices. i rather hear everyone's personal view on this and why it is or isnt worth it for them, not hate on the thread that this is a stupid topic.

Im confused about the argument about Stallone. the guys been on GH probably 20 years he hasnt come off. Its more about the illusion that steroids are. not looking good cause you have blasted most your life.

Im pro gear, but ive seen to many friends get mentally messed up from gear cause they cant come off cause they think they shrink over night. and most rather die young then get old.. ok fair enough. but at some point you stop and your gains wash away... people focus on the young age that Arnold started gear but not what happens after you stop. Ive always been curious about this.

    side note:

clearly gear can save lifes, in flex's book he quoted his dr saying if it was not for his muscle mass he would have died in his accident.

Wow guys. I can tell you all must be young and that's cool, wish I was still young. Hey speaking from an old man of 61 you are all nieve. Look down the road to you 61 - 70 yr old body. Life goes on and what you think now is the most important thing in your life now well remember just what most of you though was the most important things in your life years ago. Arnold, Lou have other things in their life. Who knows what they might be able to look like if they get back OCD with it and get on the gear. Look at my pics so an amatuure and not that good but I was doing d**gs , drinking on the gear, on the corporate board when I lived it. What if I had been real dedicated. Now 25 yrs later ,I don't work so I'll train and train like a 61 yr freak and hope I can look better then I did, some day? Stallone you say no good? give him a sh**t load of credit i believe he doesn't spend all his time dwelling on his training like some us do. I loved the gear back then and I love it more now. At 61 what do i have to loose having been where I've been.
Be cool guys because that's cool............crazy mike

We all die be it growing old or other ways. It's not so important how you die but how you live.

I hate the saying so many people use; I would die for you. How about I would live for you.... My 2nd wife use to say she would die for my daughter. She took her own life when my daughter was 14? What good was that? All it did was cause more confusion since her mother had also died when she was 2 (accidental suicide).

I think it shows a lot more how someone lives than how they die so lets not focus on Arnold or Lou last days and focus their life and accomplishments.
