    New Bp monitor

So just picked up this at best buy. Only 75$, u track BP straight to your phone. Logs everything. Only problem I see, it's very short cords.

Pretty cool thing I think. Very handy. Will do this every morning. For awhile and track it for a month.

I like this cause it keeps track of everything. Not sure about all others. First time checking one out. App on the phone and everything is uploaded straight to it. Takes maybe 2 mins tops

Interesting device. Arm cuff and not wrist cuff, correct?

I use a traditional analogue sphygmomanometer with my stethoscope but I like the idea of tracking your BP Hx through a phone app.

Yes arm cuff. And yes I am curious on accuracy which is why I will monitor for a couple weeks Ed, until my next doc appt.

Plus still having an issue with tingling in left arm, which I posted a thread back about a month and a half ago. But all signs are not pointing to BP issues anyways but better safe the sorry.

Yes I recall the post. Most ER's check for free...I would check it routinely and compare against the machine..at least that MAY give you a +-

Do you happen to have any pain in your left shoulder? My right arm was tingling last year which I believe was due to a shoulder impingement. Its just getting better now.

Should be close enough. Many of the digital consumer devices are accurate enough. Could always calibrate it with another device to determine validity of measurements.

In most cases the digital home sphygmomanometers are accurate enough.

Results will be different depending the time of the day you are doing it... IF you are logging it in your phone, then do it several times a day, to give you a guide line for the entire day.... but the best time to take the reading, is FIRST thing in the morning ,as soon as you wake up, before you eat anything.

Thanks both Mickey and snowman. Easiest for me is first thing in the morning, as I work nights sometimes, and if I am not I'm in the gym. And always wake up around 6am with 1-2 hours before doing anything stressful.

The high reading was shortly after a workout. The very low reading was first thing am but after eating.

Yes only this one is particularly made for iPhone. They have a whole new line of health conscious product. Step counter ( forget real name), heart rate monitors and scales that all tie In together and link it to an app on the phone.
