    Bored

Im dragging tires with a Hagglunds right now trying to get 30 inches of frost into the ground for a rig that has to go on tomorrow. Not my normal gig but a grand a day because it has to be done has me helping out a friend. Anyhow, bored to death so i thought i would see how long it takes Lunk to read this. I say 16 minutes. Be honest Lunk

Im sure in most cases it is tough work but not what i doing. Im just helping out a friend on my days off. He owns the machine. He gets 2 grand a day to run it. 4 grand right now because of the double shifts trying to get the frost in ground. He just cant run it at night because it would be too many hours. So right now that thing is making him 4 grand. Plus here is the kicker. Lease holders have to pay a second person 850 bucks a shift because i cant be out there alone at night. The owner ( my friend) comes out and sleeps in his truck and bill goes in wifes name. Lol. Oh!!! Plus 200 for his truck! That a 5050.00 a day. Not bad to drag old tracker tires around.

The best I can figure it has something to do with mixing ice into the ground to make the road hard when frozen for big rigs to run on?

For all you warm weather people let me explain. When it gets cold out the ground freezes but depending on temp it could be 5 inches then soft ground or it could be 50 inches. In order for oil rigs to get in they need 30 inches so they dont go through. Remember that oil rigs go on top of muskeg and swamps. We take a machine with tires on a chain and drag them around. It pushes frost down building up the inches.

Its nice out there. The trails that u see there are only as wide as a truck and the trees seem to touch the sky. Its always warm since there is no wind in there. There are alot of rules though. Since we are on northern land drilling oil lease, the natives have alot of rules. For example, not one bit of snow is allowed to be pushed into a tree. They have very tight guidelines which is good because otherwise we would just blast into the trees killing everything. Lok

I need to come up there and work for 2-3 weeks a year! I'll burn vacation time here and make nearly 25% of my salary in that time!
