Bumping my fasted cardio to 6 days a week. Trainer says sex first thing in the morning with my HAW doesn't count (damn it!!!).

So.....looking for some treadmill recommendations. I've had treadmills and elipticals in the past. Just wondering if any members here have any personal recommendations or preferences on brands or equipment?

    ^^^ this...

when its time for me to start cutting, I head straight for the heavy bag and one I put a 2nd one on the ground. Great for cardio and endurance...

3 minutes standing strikes then 2 minutes break then 3 minutes on the ground bag, 2 mins rest then repeat for 4 sets. 3 x per week

~$1500 (or less). Want something dependable with 15% incline. I'd be using it with a light jog and 25lb dumbbells in each hand. Probably need a fairly wide track.

Wife will use it too but she's tiny so I'm not worried about getting something specific for her.

Forget the treadmill and buy yourself a push bike. Treadmills get boring after a while. On the weekends I either go for a 1 hour power walk or a nice bike ride.

Craigslist. You would not believe the NICE treadmills and such people are selling or giving away. I picked up a nice big treadmill a couple of years ago for free because the belt was frayed on one side. They didn't know how to adjust it and thought it needed a new belt. I adjusted it and used a new razor to cut off 1/4" on the bad side while it was turning and it looked like new. I then turned around and sold it for $250

$1500 for a treadmill or anything like that is crazy. Dont be parted with your money so easily please.

I bought my wife one for Christmas a few years back and didn't spend much. I can't use it with my weight (235) but its fine for her at 96lbs. If I ever bought one for myself, I'd spend some money, or make sure to get a heavy duty TM to handle my weight.

I agree...CL (just dont send the $ ). They are a dime a dozen and $1000 will buy you a $4000 treadmill easy! Precor makes good stuff but I like to run this stuff by Gixx up there as he used to sell this stuff!

I'll be looking for bikes in the spring. I used to cycle 5x a day back in 2003-2004 but haven't been near a bike since then. Told my wife I'd be getting them for us to use on weekends. I don't think she even knows how to ride a bike! Lol

For fasted cardio, I need something I can do when I first get up. I have a two hour drive to work daily so I'm trying to keep (extra) travel time to a minimum in the morning so I can't get the fasted cardio done at home, jump in the shower, and head off to work.

CL is something I over looked. As you said, it'd be a great deal if I can find something in excellent condition for less than brand new in a retail store.

My last treadmill was a precor. Good equipment. My ex used it 6 days a week.

So important, imo, the ease of being able to do cardio at home...especialy fasted cardio first thing.

Precisely! I was hitting FC 2-3x a week in days I could go in to work later but if I go 6 days/wk, I won't be able to hit the gym early AM every day.

Most people use them as a clothes rack after a month or so or they are collecting dust in the garage so it should be easy to find one.

Sounds like the home gym I had when I was 21. Eventually it was used as a drying rack for clothes too!

Well, it rained today....still drizzling now, but yes, rarely rains.

Running out doors necessitates getting dressed. Lol (but much cheaper).

Yeah. Males in my family have been plagued with bad knees and hearing loss. I don't have an ACL in my right knee so I new to be careful about uneven surfaces. I've popped my knee a few times and its unpleasant.

I've seen some decent equipment for $500-800 brand new that might do the trick. Many of the cheaper ones are flimsy crap.

i agree on quality = expensive im just saying im not gonna spend 1000bucks or more on a damn treadmill. id rather keep my money and be miserable outside versus inside! an elliptical on the other hand and id go as high as 1800bucks.. but i cant duplicate that exercise without the machine like i can a treadmill..

The TM I bough my wife has a smaller belt. So when I take big strides, I was either bumping the front with my foot or feeling the axle in the rear(or whatever its called that the belt goes around in the rear).

So length of belt, width of belt, Horse Power of motor is important. But the biggest thing for me is the suspension. My wifes really gives in the middle when I run. Even the smaller ones at my gym give a little bit, but the big TM's at the gym are stable, strong and large for my gate when I run.

EDIT: I guess the point I was trying to make above is that if you are aproaching 200lbs or so, you might have to spend a few bucks to get something that will last.

Some of the newer home versions have stabilizers in the middle - I assume for the problem you mentioned.

I cant even use the normal treadmills at the gym. We have one free range treadmill that i feel comfortable on. The normal ones are stll too smal for me to get full range of motion for sprinting
