Hate these New years resolution chumps at the gym (rant)

So i'm working out today like I normally do except the gym is at least 15x more packed than normal of mean mugging idiots who have no courtesy or respect for other people in the gym and trying to complete my workout minding my own business. Some fat bitch lady was sitting on one of the machine/cables for back as a chair/seat while she is curling and doing triceps at the same time sitting down with a barbell (the fuk?)

I waited a good 5 minutes losing my pump and seeing if this sea cow is going to get up or even use the machine and she doesn't, so i'm with my workout partner and i'm like okay screw this going to ask her if I can sit their so I can use the machine as there are 5 empty benches for her to "rest" on while she does her 3 reps with 10 pounds.

So I ask her "excuse me maam are you using this machine?"

Her: Yeah im sitting here doing curls and triceps can't you see?

Me: "Could I please use this seat as I need this machine for my back exercise and there are 5 empty benches next to us for you to rest on/use and they are also made for laying down/resting on

Her: SO why cant you use another back exercise then? they are all the same!

    Me: just get up....

bitch finally stands up still talking shit and I ignore and continue my workout about ready to throw a dumbbell at her/rant

Also EVERYDAY for the past two weeks I have to wait to use equipment now because these people are doing 100 sets of 30 reps and if you ask to jump in or how many sets they have left they act like I am trying to kick them off.

Brb people curling in the only squat rack at the gym of a group of 6 and they're sitting around chatting away,

Brb can't find the 20 pound dumbbells because some lazy whale left them in a corner as she does EVERY single piece of equipment in the gym and spends majority of time sitting texting and doing what fat people do best, nothing.

Brb go get a drink of water and see some chump hall ass over to my stuff and start un racking my shit with my stuff next to it

    El Oh El

Yes I got them back a few days ago after tricking her into saying I wanted to see her for a little bit before she went out to get smashed probably, got in asked a few questions asked interested and left with my new shorts.

Bad news is they're bright white and already have rubber marks from dumbbells on chest day.

She was telling me a story of how she used to have 3 roommates and she would charge them extra saying thats how much it cost and would keep the money and another story of her taking someones money yet she is rich and has rich parents. Strong clepto, I knew something was weird about the situation.

It seems like a lot of the new years resolutioners are
a)Not at all into being at the gym, as it's a chore to them. They're pissy because they don't want to do the work.
b)They think that the 'Healthy' regular gym goers feel that they have priority in the gym as they've clearly been going there for some time.

This last one is true sometimes, I'm guilty of acting this way myself towards these people because they have no clue about gym etiquette. I'll do the same as op, politely ask them to curl somewhere other than the squat rack or what not. If they give me attitude, I'll walk away and talk to the front desk. Those guys know who the regulars are, and want to keep your business. They usually ask the guy/girl/fat-ass whiner know-nothing to move on. They'll either get it, or be pissed and not come back. Either way you win.

what pissed me off yesterday was that there were no open lockers!!!!!!!!!!

and the other thing, i had a small section (just enough room to stretch my body) in which i was doing a kettlebell circuit workout and some asswhipe comes and stands right where i was and starts doing curls!

i gave him a mean look and he moved. he clearly saw that i was stationed there but had to move in my space!

I totally agree. The problem is that most gyms just let you sign up and start working out. The most they do is a quick tour. There almost needs to be a mandatory orientation before you're allowed to use any equipment. It should include instruction for proper use of machines and free weights, a rundown on proper technique on the basic lifts, and gym rules/etiquette. The problem is that this would loose the gyms money because people wouldn't to bother with an orientation. This is sadly ironic because they'd be a lot happier in the gym, have an idea of what they're doing, and get better results because of it.

Real gym franchises do NOT want the 'regulars' business. They want the business of those who let their monthly dues get debited from their accounts and never come to use any of the equipment. When I worked VERY VERY briefly for LA Fitness as an Asst. Manager, they made it very clear, "We're not in the gym/fitness business, we're in the business of selling memberships...Our best customers are the ones who pay and dont show up to break the equipment or cause wear&tare." Although I do agree the staff does become very friendly with the regulars. I have the great fortune to be at a non-franchised gym, that has a large amount of equipment, truly geared towards fitness/bodybuilding, and a great staff. I could never imagine myself at an LA Fitness or one of those Globo gym chains. They are fu**in meat markets, where people put on their Armani Exchange V-necks (Hello, Armani Exchange is a knock down of REAL Armani shit, which costs thousands of dollars, what a way to want to seem trendy, but just show that you're actually poor and dont have two nickels to rub together because you have to buy the commercialized Armani shit, and cant afford real Armani shit...I have an Armani suit that was $3,000 bucks, seeing some doucher wearing a $50 v-neck from Armani Exchange is insulting, clowns...)...Anyway my point is that LA Fitness seems like a place where people go to try and LOOK their best, rather then get in a hardcore workout and burn cals or rip their muscles to shreds, or whatever your thing is at the gym... Meat market sums it up... For the last two weeks I've been doing cardio at my house on my treadmill and my elyptical, as my two weeks "off" from the gym, just to give time for the unmotivated fat ****s who will never ever change their lives to clear the f**k out of the gym. I have the utmost respect for the people who truly do change their lives and their habits and get into shape...But those people typically have enough motivation that they dont need an abritrary date during the year to choose to change themselves for the better.....I also get very mad when I'm at a convenience store and see a fatty with a big giant bag of potato chips, it just screams that they dont care how morbidly disgusting they are and arent making a single effort to change it. I saw some shit on the TV earlier today about plus sized models, and plus sized beauty pageants, and plus sized porn, and how plus sized stuff is becoming "MAINSTREAM," and that plus sized people are 'beautiful' and that society needs to learn how to accept these people. I for one, think its disgusting, and will never be ok with it...and anyone on this board who knows me, knows I am one of the most open minded and socially liberal people out there, but I cannot condone people who are killing themselves via food, and even worse the ones who are killing their children via food...It shows a complete lack of self-respect, self discipline, motivation, or any other good trait for that matter. Fatties are a drain on our economic and healthcare system. Its estimated that fatties cause a loss in productivity of around $39 Billion dollars per year due to sick days, health complications, and other complications associated with being a lard ass.

lol today I literally saw 1/2 the people since two days ago, I have been lifting extra heavy and grunting and scowling at the chumps who come in my gym and try to take my territory. This is going better than expected.jpg

I did help some fat guy/loser on his form today and I could see him trying to avoid eye contact and looking away when I was using dumbbells and he asked me permission to use some. I told him kindly of coarse and if he needed the twenties I was using to feel free to alternate them with me. Its the ladies and chumps i posted in post 1 I'm making feel uncomfortable and see them clearing out already.
