They keep advertising this thing a little bigger than a cell phone for home laser hair removal that lasts for "6 weeks" or whatever. Does anyone know if any of those work? Looking for cheap / at home / really works.

It's crap, my wife bought it, used it once and now it's packed away to be sold on eBay when I could be bothered. For them to sell laser hair removal devices to the public, they have to make it idiot proof (safe) for the public. This means that it's as weak as hell. I went to a professional clinic and got mine done, first session has lasted me (hairless) for 10 weeks. My next session is next Monday. You need a total of 6 sessions to reduce the hair by up to 90%. I got my back, chest, shoulder and stomach done. Pre paid the 6 sessions for $2500 here in Sydney.

I haven't found one. Few years bought one that rips the hair out. It was so painful but no longer have hair in the inside of one ankle. Maybe if started at a different spot I would have covered more area.Originally Posted by cherrydrpepper
I saw a groupon for laser removal 2 years ago and wished I had jumped in it! Watch for deals there or in living social![]()
Save yourself the headach and go with trimming. There is at least one thread on it in the spa.

It would have to be bunk. The laser used for hair removal is quite powerful. You cannot have a tan before a treatment, and are supposed to have the treatment area covered and wear sunscreen for two weeks prior. Using the laser on tanned skin has a high risk of causing hyper-pigmentation. It also cannot be used on anyone pregnant, nor can anyone pregnant be in the treatment room while it's being used. To have a safe home laser hair remover sound like a load of poop.
