All lawyers make a joke out of the legal system. If you can afford it then rarely will you do time for minor things like assault.

Me, my friend, and brother all got arrested for assault and criminal mischief. Without going into details, the guy deserved it, almost killed all of us. Anyway, the guys dad was somebody and tried to get us charged with attempted murder. My froiend went a little overboard.
It cost us each about $10K, but we got everything reduced to misdemeanors and got 6 months probation and only 1 night in jail.

Its all about the money.
Not bragging and not proud of this but been arrested for DUI 3 times and have never been charged with anything but reckless driving. All together cost me over $20K in lawyers. I even blew for 2 of them, way over the legal limit.

Young and dumb. Learned my lesson.

Personally, I like the way the black dude handled it the best. He challenged the kid on the spot... seems like a good way to handle it. Then again, he didn't really insult that guy like he did some of the others (chicken legs/arms and all that shit)... so maybe that's why the reaction wasn't hostile.
