    405's ass is mine

Yes not only did I bench 405. I pause benched it following commands, no hand off either. And not only did I do it once, I got back under the bar and did it a second time. Yes this is a big fvcking brag thread. Milestone for me, been my goal for probably a decade or more.

Well... don't give up yet! Lets see if 405 comes on here and comes out of the closet finally.... it has to be tiring to keep pretending.

Your pics in the bulk contest look great Lots of added mass and you lost the love handles in the process,

Get those arms up like your chest and you will be a monster bro (FYI Like the Grizzley Adams beard )

Thanks for the comment about the contest. Arms are long for being 5'8". Always been a tough one since I started. They are an eighth off of 18". But don't think it will look right till I get another inch or two then lose weight so that it shows. Honestly I'm pretty proud of the changes you mentioned with the love handles.

For everyone else working on breaking the 300 barrier. You can do it, don't be discouraged cause it does take time for most of us that don't start out strong. Consistency and trying to always learn will be what lets you get there.

I weighed 130 when I started college. I may have been able to do endless push ups and was active but I could not move weight.

Well done on 4 plates... I stay off the bench just to avoid rotator injury, but I doubt I could press 3 plates... only seen half a dozen guys in my life move that kind of weight, and honestly, they usually do the ol bounce off the chest, WITH a lift off

It depends on how you train. If you are always staying in 8-10 range the amount you can single wont be that much higher. If you spend more time with singles and do things that overload you like two board presses or reverse band work your 8 rep will be much lower weight.

Which doesn't mean you couldn't train for it and hit some high numbers. I two board pressed 445x1 start of jan. shortly after reverse band 445x3. Certainly helps get you used to the heavy weight. When I tried 385 the first time I missed it. Second set I got it just cause I wasn't training for it really and it may have been close but it was enough the second time I could handle it.

Here ya go, two board press.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIBp-my013I

It's in a way a partial rep but at the same time works infinitely better than a partial rep. You can look up more of the reasoning behind this.

And a reverse band press. This guy needs a longer shirt. Maybe he's training for the belly dancer world cup.
