I'll stick to my canadian west coast weather. Jeans and hoodie, flowers already blooming. Cherry blossoms will be in full bloom in another week or so. Enjoy the snow

On the weekend. Got hit with a good 6-8" of snow. Went out at 8PM to shovel. 2 hours later.....
Go to sleep. Wake up with even more snow on the ground.

I love the snow. We got hit pretty hard but my snow blower kicked ass this year (first year I had it).

Since I was being hit hard by it I had no choice but to take it...I might be out of comission for a while though, I'm real sore with all that..snow shoveling that is...Also I know for sure it was 12" cause my neigbor is black and we used his ruler...

Chicago didn't get shit... 3 inches. For some reason Chicago has ducked every single snow storm. I'm waiting to see when we get pounded again like a few years ago and I don't think its gonna happen.

Yea... you're foot long got limp before it hit Chicago. There is 12 shootings a day.... that's why I'm moving back to GA. Between the shit weather, cost of living, and the crime; Chicago sucks. Forbes just released a report of the top miserable cities in the US and Chicago is #4. Detroit is #1.

you sissy...a foot of snow is a dusting compared to the 3 feet we got up here in maine to weekend ago...although I guess a foot of snow within a city is something I could not grasp as I live in the country...im shure it shuts the whole city down...

Well what shuts the city down is all the foreign cars and not to lie there were some American cars as well, stranded all over the roads. Yeah you see those cars sit so low to the ground that they literally push the snow and end up over heating and or getting stuck. But this is a Chevy and Ford city as GM Plant And Ford Plants are in KC so a lot of folks drive big trucks and suv's. Those are the ones who got home safely for the most part. And they also helped out the foreign cars by towing them out of ditches. At 3 to 4 inches per hour of snowfall all of our snow fell in a few short hours overwhelming our snowplows. Not to mention I think our city has more miles to plow than any city anywhere. KC has 6400 lane miles of streets to be plowed plus add to that 4000 lane miles of residential streets to be plowed as well. Your talking over 10,000 miles of streets to be plowed not once but several times in a severe snow storm. It's huge task. Now add to that hundreds of stranded cars and trucks stuck in the snow in the way of these plows and it becomes a nightmare to clean....But to KC's credit they have built over the years an amazing amount of equipment to take care of all these issues. Our roads are already usable again and the city is up and running. Granted it will still take a few days till everyone is back to normal but we are getting there. yeah even with some ot's issues here, KC is still one of the nice, affordable liveable cities left. Crime is there but nothing like coastal cities or Chicago, which by the way is sad cause I really like Chicago. A lot of nice bars, stores and resturants there.
Oh and we have some really great barbeque..
