    Cheap plane tickets

Egging up a trip to Florida in late April/early may and was wondering where everyone goes for tickets.

    Kayak.com

It searches almost all online ticket vendors including airlines

    L4L only for me.

really only works for international travel, but you get to fly first class for the price of coach. it's freaking amazing , and now I'm spoiled. I'll fly short flights coach, like a couple of hours or so, but on those big flights, first class baby!

go to all sites like kayak, cheap air, cheap fares and then find the air line with the cheapest price and go directly to their site. Then try and find a promo code online for that airline. I bought round trip tickets to Aruba from NYC which usually cost around 550-650 abd I got them for 380

I spend hours each time searching ALL the sites and 9 out of 10 times I end up going through Expedia because the final price is either the same or a little less.

Some places look cheaper until you get to the FINAL price and then they seem to equal out. TR I have never heard of L4L before. I'm upset you have not shared it before now. I will keep that one bookmarked for my Asian travels.

There are always booking fees when you use those sites. Whats in it for them otherwise?

Always find the cheapest through their sites then go directly to the airline

????? I have NEVER found going directly to the site cheaper than using the online sources such as suggested above. Only exception may be if you have a discount due to air miles or something.

Priceline. You can name your own price and don't be afraid to low-ball them. I've had scored $300 flights for $80 before doing that.

I just tried my way three different times. It was cheaper by $20, same price, and 20 cents cheaper lol

I joined the $9 fare club with spirit and they have some wicked cheap deals but watch the bag fees you need to pay for that stuff before you go to the airport.

this thread has basically has everything you could want to know about booking plane tickets, its a goldmine. It's an open interview with a reservation agent, if your unfamiliar with the website then just do a search on the page for the posters name to find all the good information.

If you take one thing out of this thread, i would say take the cookie part out. If you clear your cookies before buying tickets it can dramatically decrease the price, the airline can raise the price if you check it multiple times and it records that with cookies. pretty slimey imo

Yes I do the same with any airfare site I go to. I have found the same thing applies to most all sites. They are pretty smart aren't they?

If by smart you mean slimier than a lubed-up banana slug then yeah. Most airlines also over-book all flights by 5% or so in anticipation of people not showing up. If everyone does show up that's when they do those "give up your ticket for a free ticket on a later flight + cash compensation" things, although i actually like that they do that. Last time i flew back home i came back one day later than i planned and $300 richer.

If you have a flexible schedule go directly to the airlines website. Check every couple of hours cuz they change frequently. I just booked nonstop LA to Orlando on Virgin Ameica for $179 one way. A few days before I return to Cali, I start shopping for a cheap return flight. The cheapest "website" airfare was $449 with stops! nonstop was $450+ on shit airlines like Delta.
