Given my genetics/build this is deffernatly an area I believe I will do well in, anyone else here competed in this category, do you have any tips on what judges are looking for, also regarding tattoos, will I be marked down because of this,
I plan on one more cycle mid year, really just to add a couple of kgs in the right places, anymore and I may be pushing the boundaries of size for mens physique category, however I don't plan on competing for another 2 years once I have more structure in my day to day life, I currently work away, which is not ideal, but I still manage to maintain a physique that I could competitively walk on stage in mens physique tomorow if I had too.

I also fall into the top of the 1st category which is capped at 178, I think my height is 177-178 which will be another advantage, another 1cm and ill be getting over shadowed by 6ft+ guys

One thing I really dislike about this category is the knee length board shorts, no emphasis on legs which is really sad, I really home this is changed down the track to a mid quad type short, like rugby shorts..

Yes board shorts 1" above knees....which really sucks

I'm sitting at 176lbs 7-8%bf and my measurments are currently sitting at the Greek ideal, going by online calculators, which take your ankle/wrist measurments, and use that to scale, ill have a play with some current photos, I have tattoos which are big give aways to my identity.

As far as jumping on stage now I want to be at my absalute best and really chase what the judges are after, in 2 years time ill be living back at home with no mortgage so my whole lifestyle can be dedicated to it, more than it is now..

My tattoos are my main concern at the moment, I have a full shaded sleeve,

U have to use a photo web sharing site such as photobucket etc when sending pics via pm.

My advise if you haven't already is go to as many shows as you can before your first. You will see there is no consistency in judging. Any particular judge on any particular day. But you will see the overall look when you compare the winner from several shows. Most are posted on line several days after so look at those as well. See what the winners have that you don't and vise versa. Work on the week spots and find ways to emphasize your strengths on stage. A turn here or tilt there makes a difference in the visual perception. Sounds like your ready. Good luck. Hope this helped a little. Cape

Look good hard to tell overall though. Everybody has tatts these days. Tanner will hid a little. Ask the judges at a show their thoughts on them. After the show they stay around to answer questions.

Yeah I forgot to mention that was pre and post op
Haha well I was attempting to delete "my pic", thought it was as simple as editing and removing the inline photo attach obviously not, then threw in a random photo in hopes of it overwriting the current one obviously not, I've opened a thread in the one on one section, but looks like they have not got around to it yet :/

Gleason Tebau has an arm tat that accentuates the definition of his muscles....I think if done like that then tattoo would help

They can look really good, I'm not a fan of colour, a well designed artistic shaded tats look really appealing IMO but depends on the judges on the day once again I guess

agreed....im goin to finish up my arm(above elbow to cap shoulder) with a lot of dark/transcending to light with a lot of negative....alongg the lines of this
