Just curious where everyone trains. I work out at 24 hour fitness myself, I really like it there. What about you?

Golds
The place I'm working out at now actually used to be a gold's, but they changed it to 24 hour fitness. How's the environment there?
My garage![]()
They closed the gym in the building that I work at so I've been working out at home lately.
I miss some of the fancy machines and the atmosphere but I have a pretty good setup.
3 station weider universal gym
1000lbs steel free weights
old weider bench w/ incline/decline, adjustable removable uprights, preacher
Might scope out a new gym in the new year but for now I'm ruffin it.
Small town gym.....where everybody knows your business![]()
New Gym in the area Manhattan Fittnes. I like the gym, but the hours suck. Itl like 5am-8pm weekday, 8am-2pm sat and 8-12 sun. Those hours suck. I wish it was a 24 hour one
cant complain about golds, its big and has all the machines i need. the only thing i hate is that the music changes depending on whos working, so sometimes its loud house music or loud heavy metal......then sometimes they play some soft ass oldies beats that you just cant get into. all in all its a good gym
New York Sports Club.PL you workout at manhattan fitness?i think that the gym i use to knwo a guy who worked at?maybe it wasn't manhattan fitness, i don't think i know of that place.where is it located?
GOLDS!!
i'm another at Gold's
i don't think there is a manhattan fitness in the city?where the fuck is that?this is driving me insane!
I work out at school. It's a nice gym. Anything you want is there, pool etc. But there's wayyy to many clowns there.
So I'm joining a new gym next week...

Okay, kids, let's put on our thinking caps. Alright, put on our baseball caps . . .
Try http://www.manhattanfitness.com (duh . . .)
Remember, PL never said he was from Manhattan; his profile says that he's from "Most congested area of USA, NYC-Boston."
And the answer is . . . Manhattan Fitness is in New Haven, CT.
So relax, Partyboy, you're not going senile!![]()

take our great city and steal the name for use in CT!!!!bastards!!!
I have to different memberships.
Gold's and another club, that is open 24 -7 and has all the amenities.
I use an independent gym in the Philadelphia suburbs that has decent weight stacks and Hammer machines and a good ol' Nautilus circuit. I find, being tall, that Nautilus is designed best - at least on the fly, where I can keep my elbows shoulder height instead of pointed down, and the bicep curl, where the bars are straight instead of geometric. (My only complaint is that the old Nautilus sitting military press, which is combined with the fly machine, has only vertical hand grips, not horizontal ones.)
And I admit it, I still hit Bally's. I have the membership that's good at any BTF in the U.S. and Canada, and it only costs me $110 a year at this point. Too good a deal to beat for when I travel, which is when I like to concentrate on cardio (I'm a Precor freak - I like them more than the Lifefitness and StarTrac eliptical crosstrainers because of the variable incline and resistance).
Gold's? Not bad, but they seem to put more emphasis on selling clothing than any other chain (hey, I'm just an Everlast sorta guy), and the one near me is a little too glitzy for my taste.
This is true, but if you wait until 7:00 or so, it starts clearing out and you don't have to worry about it. But if you go between 5-6:30, then it feels like a sardine can in there.Originally posted by 47john
but i moved and $ was tight so i go to the rec centers near my new place and use my basement .
but one thing about that 24 hour is you cant get shit done during heavy traffic hours , it's huge but there are so many people there that you can just forget the more popular machines . at least if you are trying to keep the time between sets to a minimum . but i did get into some bball as late as 12 at night which is cool too .
Just got a personal training job at 24 hour fitness
Sorry, I have't read this thread in a while. Yea the gym is in CT, near New Haven. I guess that you have allready figured that out. DID you go insane yet??????Originally posted by partyboynyc
