    chipotle...

Since many on here know how good a burrito or chicken salad is from here I thought I would share.
My buddy got his giant burrito and all trimmings walked out to see a homeless man and his dog. He walked by and said sir did you eat today and the man said no. My buddy handed his burrito over and walked in to get another for himself and the chipotle said "sir is something wrong with your burrito". He quickly explained he gave it away and ordered again and they said its on the house. we believe things pay it forward!
    Nice thought for today

That's great of your buddy. Soo often all we hear about is negativity and tragedgy. It's always nice to hear that there are people out there that still care for others. Props to your friend.

I don't know. there are a lot of people out there holding up begging signs saying they are "homeless, please help, god bless", when they are not.

A couple of years ago, there was an article in the local rag here. christmas time. a younger male (maybe 30) was by walmart holding up his begging sign. at the end of the day, he was photographed going iinto walmart buying some semi expensive electronic equipment with the money given him during the day.

A friend of ours has a cousin that goes to San Jose on the weekends. He holds out his begging sign, and gets upwards of three or four hundred dollars on saturday and sunday. He has a job, and owns a house.

My woman, a few years back, gave a burger to a man over by mcdonalds. he began cussing her saying he didn't want a freaking burger, he needs the cash......

....I'm a liittle skeptical with all the homeless scammers out there.

Homeless scammers is a reality. I don't like to be made a fool of.

here's another scam being played every where.

some "homie" comes to me at the gas station. his car is by the pump. he asks if i can help him with $5 in gas, as he has no money. I tell him "no thanks" and look him in the eye to signal that's my final answer. A few moments later "homie's" woman and two kids come out the mini mart, with bags of chips and sodas.

So homie had no money for gas, but plenty for chips and sodas, which probably set him back ten bucks.

there are many "homeless" here in my city that really are not homeless. they are staying with others, receive some kind of disability, but the begging fund is supplemental income, for, imagine, beer and cigarettes.

    who knows.

Yup. Saw something the other day here in Vegas on the news, guy says he makes $150K a year begging, panhandleing.
I see the same people everyday on my way home from work, at this one corner. Killing it.

I was working 2 jobs for a while, day job, and Bartending at night. Pulling 75-80 hours a week.

On my way into my second shift of the day, I was at a red light, and this chick, obviously a head. Came walking through the cars, walked up to my window and asked me for change. I said, NOPE. She had the nerve to say " dont u have a job". Now I do not advocate violence towards women, but I caught myself starting to open my truck door. I did nothing, but it had me pissed off for quite a few hours.

I think you subsidize what you want to promote. if you want panhandling in the streets, you promote it by subsidizing it with cash, from your pocket to theirs.

It gives the panhandlers a financial incentive to continue with their efforts.

I'd be happy to donate $20/mo to a shelter/kitchen if it meant keeping em off the streets.

Its funny. when you go to the parks, there are signs all over the place "don't feed the animals" since you don't want them begging from you

the same is true with people. If no one ever gave them anything, the beggging would stop pretty quickly.

i've had people not even get out of their car asking for money at gas stations...but like TR stated they usually say its for gas money that they are stranded/need gas/had car trouble

i RARELY give money but the ones u can tell r most likely homeless i will always offer them food if and when i have it which is a good percentage of the time

I'm kind of against giving to the needy. I feel it doesn't help the problem, it just makes it worse.

I'm totally for giving to organizations that help train the homeless for jobs and help them attain the ability to be self-sufficient, but I'll never just give to somebody on the street. It's like the old "give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for life" thing.

That was really nice of your friend.

Last night walking across 35th street to walk into MSG for Knicks there was construction blocking the sidewalk ramp.

A women in a motorized wheel chair could not get over the curb. I passed her and turned around to see if anyone would help bc I assumed she would not be able to get over the curb. She tried three times and no one helped so I turned around and walked back lifted the back of that thing up (****ING HEAVY TOO)
and went on to watch the knicks destroy the magic!!
