    Nutrition help for a buddy

No help In the nutrition section so maybe if I post here I will get some help.

I'm trying to help a buddy who wants to be on a bb diet. He's 40 yo 6' @ 242 and 10-12% bf. this guy is a beast. Done a few shows but just ate kind of clean and dirty mixed and did a crash diet about 2 weeks before to cut fat.

So he came to me the other day asking if I could help him do it the right way and I just wanted to post on here and see what you guys's advice would be. What I'm getting from my calculations is his maintenance is around 3000ish calories so I'm figuring recommending him be up around 4500ish on calories and a 40/30/30 split on macros. Just trying to put on some good lean mass ASAP without jumping bf too much.

He is on cycle right now using test/tren so that's why I'm saying around 4500 on calories. You guys may even recommend more than 4500.

    Thanks for any advice given!

    Whats up Jaxon

I recommend you go in the diet section and read the stickies at the top. Lean bulking and how to bulk in particular. Lots of good info there.
But honestly if your friend is really 242lbs and 10-12%BF then either he has great genetics or he already knows a thing or two about diet.

Based on those stats his rough maintenance is around 3200 and guys usually start with 500 over when bulking and go up from there as needed.

The stickies recommend macro splits but just like everything else, what works for one does not work for all so they are just a good starting point.

    Hope that helps.

Oh he's sick man I'm telling you. I wish I had a picture to post. Imagine my surprise when he came up to me about asking about diet help and what I thought his next cycle should be. I mean picture the guy you hear everyone talking about in the gym and that guy coming to you asking that kind of advice. My first words should have been "I should be asking you this"! Anyway it's kind of baffling but I want to help the guy since we've become pretty good friends and kind of getting our families together (or kids). Like you said either he just has some sick genetics...or.... I don't know what the hell! Yeah Ive read a pretty good amount of them and I would have recommended around 3500 from my calculations as the 500 over or somewhere between there and 3700 but since he was on tren I would say quite a bit more but ill go back and read some more and see what info I can pull.
