Denying Steroids..
Why do people still defensively deny steroid use even if you express all the right intentions? I just don't get it..
There's this guy on myfitnesspal who clearly juices. I wanted to add him as a friend because I thought we have something in common. If you use that site, you know how people are very ignorant and naive about the stuff. So I added him and sent him a message:
"Nice physique! Must've taken lots of hard work, respects! How long have you been lifting?
And not to sound judgmental or belittle your hard work, but I'm also curious how long you've been "on"?
I hope you don't feel answering this violates your privacy, if so you can just ignore this email.. But it's always good to know fellow chemists and share cooking recipes ; )"
He ignored the 1st question and replied by getting all offended and very strongly/ defensively denying ever using roids, but somehow knew exactly what I was asking despite the way I coded the question..Last edited by >Acute<; 03-26-2013 at 05:36 PM.

Because it's no one's business. Not that it justifies an abrasive response.

I have never been asked by a stranger but I have an answer ready. "Do you think you know me well enough to ask me if I have committed a felony?"
If it was legal I would not care if people knew.

It's illegal because no one F#kin talks about it!
When average people starting coming out openly about using marijuana, no one was arrested. Rather, it became more acceptable, it put an end to stereotypes/ misinformation/ propaganda and now it's being legalized state by state.
That's why I don't respect anyone who doesn't openly talk about it. You may have big muscles, but no spine

Steroid are different in that people feel users have an unfair advantage.
And recreational drug talk is against the rules. So earn some respect yourself, grow a spine and read the rules. You're insulting a large group of people here and I assure you that it won't last very long at this rate.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

NO it's because the media has demonized AAS use more than marijuana or even heroin for that mater.
Why dont you go public and tell the newspaper or local congressman you are taking aas for personal reasons and it should be OK and lets see what happens? Lead by example.
BTW, maybe the guy you messaged really is natural and was offended by your statement. There are a lot of pretty big guys who have good genetics and dont need aas to be in good shape especially if they are cut; That is all about diet. Lets see a picture of this guy you are talking about.

PPL have been arrsted for possession of MJ for decades and ppl have spoke about it openly even longer lol. Walking around with a Tshirt on saying I like juice isn't going to make it legal...
Perhaps you have such a big spine that you can walk into your local PD and show them your stash then begin to educate them on the benifits of AAS...hell, knock yourself out

In real life no one has the balls to ask me my business. On the internet of coarse it's a different story. Many have huge balls and big spines on the internet and talk a bunch of crap. I do not respect anyone that talks big on the internet.

Unfair advantage over what? If you're competing in a drug tested competition and want to cheat, I can understand the need to deny it. But are you competing every time you go to the gym with everyone there? That seems like a neurotic attitude.
There's no competition. We're all building our bodies here and there's nothing morally superior about choosing not to use steroids . I don't drink alcohol, but I don't think people who do have an unfair advantage at parties. It's a personal choice!

Acute,
Youre appear knowledgeable and have certainly done your homework.
But i have to agree with the masses. Calling someone out that clearly doesn't want to be called out is not the best approach to becoming "friendly" with that person - regardless of whether or not you KNOW he is "on" or not.
Its already been said that it highly illegal in some country's, so this has to be respected as well.

Anyone who asks me at the gym about steroid use , I try to point them in the right direction. I never get offended or deny it. In fact I look even better in their eyes when they hear my point of view which might stir some thoughtful process in them. Now they gonna go home and do their own research rather than talk shyt behind my back.

Dude, you probably should think twice about doing this. Eventually, you're going to talk to the wrong person. You're not going to educate the masses and talking about it isn't going to make Congress all of a sudden sympathetic to AAS and lift their ban. It's one thing for people to think you're on juice, it's another thing to be announcing it to random people.
And even if juice was legal, I still wouldn't be open about it's use. You know what pisses me off is when assumes that the amount we lift or how we look is because we're on gear. They completely ignore the fact that we bust our asses in the gym and in the kitchen to do it. To them, we're just a bunch of couch potatoes who found a few vials of test.Last edited by Honkey_Kong; 03-25-2013 at 11:29 PM.

I don't like the idea of prison, I'm sure Mr. Delts doesn't either. Just because something is true doesn't mean you should talk about it to strangers... or anyone for that matter.

that's crap bro, why should anyone admit to using aas with the way it is perceived by the public mainly due to the media...I tell no one and expect people to respect my privacy if I choose not to share...I cant think of anything more inappropriate then some stranger asking me such a personal question...its right up there with "hey did you fuk your girl in the ass last night or what cus obviously with that smile on your face you got laid" point is its not your business to know so drop it...

uhhhh... A pm like that to me would have also resulted in either ignoring you or telling you to get lost. You want to take a stand start talking to your legislature, etc. Calling out strangers via the internet who dont know you from a hole in the wall and then begrudging them for not admitting to something illegal has nothing to do with having a spine....

I will deny it to the death. If you are a respected mover of society, maybe a business owner why would you want people looking down at you. Steroids are very misunderstood by society thanks to the media. My testosterone comes directly from cvs pharmacy under doctor supervision. That doesn't mean it is anyone else's business but my own. There is nothing to gain by letting people in on our own personal business and everything to lose.
