Pissed.. No Reguard for Human LIfe

This is very troubling to me.

Two teenage suspects were arrested in a small coastal Georgia city a day after a baby was killed and his mom shot, authorities said Friday.

The mother, Sherry West, told FOX affiliate WAWS-TV that she was pushing her 13-month-old son, Antonio, in his stroller in Brunswick, Ga., Thursday morning, when two boys – described as about 10 and 15 years old – came up, demanded money and shot them.

Brunswick police announced Friday afternoon that they had arrested a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old, and that they were charging them with murder. The arrests came after SWAT teams had gone door to door, searching for clues, and police had checked local school attendance and absentee lists to see if there were any students who hadn't been at school that fit the description of the suspects.

West told WAWS-TV that the older boy pointed a handgun at her during the encounter Thursday.

"He said, 'I'm gonna kill you if you don't give me your money,' and I said, 'I swear I don't have any,'" she told WAWS-TV of the encounter.

She said they wouldn't accept no for an answer.

"He says, 'Well, I'm gonna kill your baby,'" she told WAWS-TV, crying. "I put my arms over my baby and he shoves me. And then he shot my baby right in the head."

    Glynn County Police Department

    De'Marquise Kareem Elkins, 17.

West was shot in the leg, according to local reports. Brunswick police spokesman Todd Rhodes confirmed she received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from a handgun.

Brunswick police identified the 17-year-old suspect as De'Marquise Kareem Elkins. The 14-year-old's identity, since he is a juvenile, was not made public; under Georgia law, 17 is considered an adult.

West was the only eyewitness to the crime, Rhodes said. Residents in the area reported hearing gunshots, but didn't see anything, he said.

Brunswick, Georgia Police Chief Tobe Green says authorities have arrested two teenagers suspected in the shooting death of a baby in a stroller and the wounding of the baby's mother.

"We're not leaving any stone unturned," he said earlier in the day.

In a news conference Friday afternoon, Brunswick police chief Tobe Brown said, "We're still following leads from our witnesses. We're still collecting evidence. ... We're currently serving search warrants at three locations within the city."

Police hadn't located a weapon yet.

The baby's father, Louis Santiago, said to WAWS-TV, "Why? Why my little one? You know? You feel they could have just taken the pocketbook and go."

Brunswick is about 80 miles south of Savannah.

I will never know. It does seem that there is an overall moral degradation generation by generation. I mean even the ages, not that its ever right but violent crimes by kids seem like they are through the roof. No respect or value for human life as you said. It makes me f-ing sick. Makes me wanna move my kids to the mountains somewhere.

I saw it on the news last weekend. The mother of one of the kids claims he was at home with her. Its a small town and everyone knows these kids and are saying the momis lying and they aren't surprised it's him. She never looked at the camera or interviewer once.

Sad and hopefully they both go away for a long time or forever.

Because of things like the internet, there is more shocking stuff available to children. Online gaming, watching rated R films online.....kids are becoming way too de-sensitised to stuff now a days.

I know you all don't want to hear this, but you take god out of society and society goes crazy. Just my opinion. Younger generation has no respect for human life and instead of fist they pick up guns cause their all *****s and scared to take an ass whipping. My mom used to whip my ass more than any fight I ever been in. The world is going crazy and the United States is first in line.

Yes although it seems years of constant torture before death would be a more fitting punishment in this case.

Well, looks like I'll be moving to a remote undisclosed location in either Canada or Alaska. Knowing the possibility of this could be my family one day is too much to comprehend.

I think that at this young age you are less likely to comprehend something so permanent as death. I think they are so young all thought process stays in the right then and now. There is no excuse
Yes, the more time children stay behind pc's and video games, the less likely they are to learn the fundamentals of compassion and empathy for living beings. Also, it's something that can begin from birth. A mother who ignores a baby when they're screaming in pain from teething can also subconsciously cause a child that young to start losing the initial example of care/compassion.
None the less, children or not, they are murderers and should be treated as such

Thats not it. I dont believe in God it doesnt mean I am going to shoot a baby in the head or raise my kid that way.

Watch my video I posted. Its perfect example of people having kids who should not be. The kids in my video have no chance at life

You know, if I was the parent of that piece of shit kid, if he was still breathing after the beating I would've given him for what he's done, I'd be the one turning him in to the police. A parent who will try to cover up for their murder child deserves to get the same punishment their child gets.

As gruesome as this is, you should hear what cases come out of different Job and Family Services agencies around the US. You may hear that a baby was killed on the news, but when you hear the details, it's absolutely shocking.

I think desensitization may play a small role in these ****ed up kids, but it's also environmental upbringing. I grew up watching some of the most gruesome, but awesome, gore-stricken horror movies with my Dad. It was one of the few things we did together that we both enjoyed. With that being said, I'm not a lunatic, violent, murder crazed individual. What helps is proper parenting and guidance. What a lot of the shit bags don't have, yet they keep popping out kids. That's ok, because our tax dollars will raise them financially (somewhat) and then they'll become shitbags like their parents and kill us.

Cutting this rant early before I go off on our horrendous judicial system in cases like these.

I honestly don't think it's the violent games and movies that are desensitizing the kids today. I believe it's this "no responsibility" world we're living in. Kids are raised to not think they're at fault. It's always because of something else. What ends up happening is things stop being as real when there is no consequences to the actions because it's something else's fault.
