    Dads atv

My dad has a 660 raptor and is wanting to put nitrous on it lol he asked me to see what I could find out on prices and he would also and we would compare. I was wondering if any of you could give some insight on what a 'good price' would be. Thanks in advance.

Hahahaha hell ya!!! He is big into trail riding and where we live there is always this big event in the fall with an ass load of quads there. He is highly competitive (I get that from him lol) and races like he wants to die lol he also is planning on a turbo kit and stretching it out a bit but idk much about those things either.

Fist thing is sell it and get a 700. I have had 2, 660s and a couple 700s. Big difference.

Its easy to add an extended swing arm. I won't own one without.

I would forget about nitrus or turbo unless he like to work on them more than riding. Get a good programer for the computer on the 700 and it frees up a lot of hp.

Why do u prefer the 700?? I plan on getting a quad so I can ride with him some. And I plan on getting bigger lol so i figured a 660 would work well. But enlighten me on the preference please

700 has EFI instead of dual carbs that are a PITA when you need to tune it, the stock boots blow off easily especially once you start modifying (I just sold my aftermarket boots) and it's built better than the 660.

It's a lot easier and nicer to just plug a power commander into the unit, remove the air box and put a KNK filter on it and get a lot more HP trouble free vs the 660.

Join one of the ATV forums and do some reading, you will learn a lot. I have been a member of a couple of them for several years since I have been riding since 1987.

    That's awesome!!!

I'm not as experienced of a rider as my dad I would rate myself at about middle playin field. Would a 700 still be a good decision to develop my skill as a rider?

My daughter wwhen she was 12 abandoned her raptor 350 for my 700 and my wife 1st time riding rode my 700 because the 450 I had was being wteaky and didn't want to switch. The efi vs carbo
Is very forgiving. The efi is nice and smooth. Anyone can ride the 700 and it has power when needed.

All depends on the area and if you can find one on craigslist someone is in NEED of cash and get it before someone else. I Paid 4K for one in 2007, 4k for one that had about 3K worth of add-ons in 2009 and 5k for one that had at least 4k worth of after market parts in 2012.

You can pick up a decent 2007-2008 for 3K that is pretty much stock.

My 1st ATV was a Kawi Mohave 250cc 1986. I sold it to a friend LONG time ago and it still runs last I heard. I was the 1st person to change the rev limiter by swapping out the ECU with one off a motorcycle and re wired it. Ran perfect, just bumped up the RPM range 1K. I should have marketed it but instead I showed one of the mechanics (he didnt think it could be done) and then about 1yr later they showed up in magazines as an upgrade.
