    cuz i am arguing

ok, arguing with a coworker about this.

When writing a check amount to someone, does it make a difference if it says One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and 00/100 or Sixteen Hundred Fifty and 00/100.

please explain if there is a difference

The correct way taught in school is One thousand, six hundred and fifty dollars and no cents. At the end of the day the bank only looks at the amount in the box. You could probably write anything on the line and they would process it lol

I always write One thousand six hundred fifty and 00/100. Probably not a big deal though.

Yes. Needs to say one thousand.

I've had checks returned because the amount in the box didn't equal the amount they saw on the line. As for the proper wording, I was taught to write it out, then use "and 00/100 cents".
