    Exclamation Joining marines!

I failed my math assessment to get into a cc and placed low in English, feel like pure chit right now, my motivation has never been high in school with my shitty childhood, suffering depression, and i am miserable all the time. And I'm just not a school kind of person, I understand I will have to study and take tests in the usmc. It's time to get serious. I've always wanted to be in the military and serve our country and in about... 1 year I will be in the marines(still have to finish high school). I will go to my summer house for the last time(been going every summer since I was 8). Because unfortunately there is a wait to get in. I don't know what my mos will be yet. Already saw a recruiter and everything. There goes the idea of using aas...

Congrats on the decision to join! I was never in any branch of the military but if I could do it over I would have done it. The AAS can wait until later. I'm sure picking up some discipline along the way will help you out in your journey to be fit!

If you're suffering from depression and are miserable all the time, boot camp and the military might not be the best place for you dude (and aas should be out of the question), you might end up on fire watch. Not trying to discourage you, but it's something you should consider. All in all, congrats man hope everything works out for you.

What about the 75th ranger regiments or the 82nd airborne?? Or 10th mountain? All the wars of the future are going to be fought in shit locations no more fighting in the heart of france...

The thing that irritates me about the US armed forces is that "hooh hoora huhhh" what is that?? i dont get it??? Sounds like nonsense to me. My army never did that. Can someone explain why they do this???? Is it ment to inspire the american?

Push ups, sit ups, pull ups and running...that's your pysical fitness in bootcamp. There are very nice gyms on the bases and many Battalions have there own small gym. You will not get to have to much of a regular w/o routine as you are training all the time but you will be in good shape

This is exactly my thought. If you are hardcore about it and know its what you want to do. The Marine Corps is a great place. However, it's not the branch to join if your just short on options or you're down. You've got to have a love for it and really want it

And I wouldn't really worry about having a gym at boot. You'll get all the pt and IT you can handle
Work on your pull ups! They are the bread and butter of your PFT score. And you're not worth much if you can't get 100 crunches lol
Best of luck to you! But understand what you're getting ourself into before you sign anything. It's not just a restart button. Or Call of Duty. And make sure anything your promised is in writing or it doesnt mean squat
If its something you know you want to do, then you'll get your chance to earn it.

It's the exact opposite of "short of options". Have always wanted to join military, actually do something with my life, instead of just stay at home, masturbate and play video games.

If you leave the Corps after 4 years anything short of the best shape of your life...it's your own fault!

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but dont any of you think that its too early to become a soldier right after highschool ? I mean for God's sake, some are still virgins at that age. Oh, and you can legally kill a man but you can't drink. Most 18 year olds are still running with their dickk in their hand at that age, let alone hold and use an assault rifle(very very deadly weapon)

BTW, i googled "cant drink till 21" and this is what i got:
Why are you an adult at 18 but you cant drink until your 21?
if they say your brain is not fully developed until your 21 then why are you legally an adult at 18?

Because we need stupid 18 year olds to join the army.
If it wasn't for the draft, you'd still be a minor till you're 21.

No offense, but it seems stupid to give someone who is basically still a teenager(=not nearly a mature mind) the option of killing someone or not. Or put them in an environment where things like this float around.
Sure, 18 year olds from back in the day were more mature, but the ones running around now are mostly kids with an over inflated ego that need a slap to get right looking towards Rambo movies and shitting themselves at the sight of real life and the reality of war.

Hope ya'll dont hate on me, its just a personal opinion and i know you guys hold you military in high regards, and so you should considering they protect you and your freedoms. More men that should support these things are needed, but i said men, not children. Maybe someone could shed some more light and give me an argumented answer.

Again, hope i didnt offend anyone, it was not my intention and i apologize in advance if i did.
