    Spelling and Grammar

For my line of work everything is done on the computer and I run a mac so I have enabled auto correct spelling for everything. All docs, emails, and work disclosures. I am on it all day long and everything I do is paperless.

The other day I had to hand write a letter for something. I could not believe how bad my spelling has gotten and how I had to check google to make sure I spelled the word correctly. My hand writing was atrocious too.

I am not a rocket scientist but I always felt I was an above average student. I think technology has taken my spelling and grammar back a couple of notches. So I took off the auto correct and man I spell everything wrong now...lol

I've always felt. Not "I always felt".

I agree technology is making us lazy because it does most of our thinking. I have several friends that are high school teachers. Most of the kids they teach make numerous spelling mistakes when not using a computer. They said that they even misspell the simplest of words. The worst thing that kids are doing now is using text lingo and abbreviation when they write papers.

Someone in my office wrote an email to a client with text abbreviation in their email. They were fired right after that.

Spelling and grammar are not a problem for me. I won my elementary school spelling bee in the 2nd grade.

I can pound out 80+ WPM,

....but I think My hand would cramp up if I had to actually write something out by hand?
