If You Could See Yourself In 5 Years........
Would you want to? Travel in time for a very short period to see you, your life and your family from the outside looking in.

Yes, I'd do it. If I didn't like what I saw, I'd make damn sure I worked my ass off to change it.

Not really, I would however, like to live 1 year in the 1930's.

knowing what is going to happen in the future kinda ruins the uniqueness of now, wouldn't you say?
and if we already know what is going to happen, kind of makes the decision process a little less special.....

I took that to mean "a version" of what my future could hold; not necessarily what it would be, regardless of my actions current or in the next 5 years.
If it was the absolute version of my future and unchangeable, then no, I don't want to see it.

Hell ya..
Unless I wasn't around in 5 years..
Seeing your future could help you prepare in the present.

I'd trade the future for the past so I could spend a day with a close family member I lost.

That's tuff. I mean on one hand you have the memories to cherish and you never know what the future holds that you may miss out on..perhaps a relationship with someone equally or more inportant than that family member that passed, maybe that newely adopted baby. It would be a tuff trade i think.

Sure, why not. As long as its not like one of those weird movies where you screw everything up by seeing something I shouldn't have and have space cowboys or something hunting me.

Oh so you guys want me to tell you what it was like back in that era ? huh.. Bet some one out there is saying "hey ask mikey he can tell you kids what the old days were like" haha.
I would like to go back and not do all the fvcked up things and spending my inheritance away ... As for forward it might spoil my dream of getting to 225 lbs. hard and vascular. So I choose not to go forward and look and I can't continue to look back, SO I'll try to stay in the moment. ..crazy mike

Yes of course so when I get back to present time I can find the girl I will be with in the future and see what she looks like in present time at age 13. lol
Unless she is in Hawaii then she might only be 9 now.
I remember one of Tom Leykis show where he said he was standing in a line at a bank with a buddy and saw this very attractive mother with her daughter, a very cute little 7 or 8 yr old blonde and Tom said there is my future ex wife. He was referring to the daughter. lolLast edited by lovbyts; 04-15-2013 at 11:10 PM.

I think seeing my 'future' would by nature instantly invalidate it. Part of the decision making process relies on making educated guesses as to how they will turn out. If you know the result, it takes away that uncertainty and you'll probably make a few choices that you wouldn't have made if you didn't know.
Sort of like if I knew ahead of time that I was supposed to get 100% on my next exam, I might not study as hard as I would if I had no idea. Just knowing that, and not studying as hard, it would affect that score and very likely result in me NOT getting 100%. I wouldn't want to do the same thing with my life and not try as hard at things just because a look into the future told me they'd work out.
