Calling all Roughnecks

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. I've had some major changes in my life recently and have decided its time for a change. I want to get into the oilfields. I've been looking into North Dakota specifically. If I can get on anywhere else, I'd take that to. I'm hoping to find a position as a roustabout or a floor hand. Are there any other oil workers here? Any and all advice is welcome.

I switched to the oil and gas industry a year and a half ago and haven't looked back since. There should be plenty of work out there right now, especially where your thinking, but the real good money is going offshore. You may want to look down south, Louisiana and Texas specifically.

Thanks for the info. Ill check the site out! Yeah I would love to go offshore but I think getting an entry level position would be a little easier onshore. Do you work a 2 on 2 off schedule?
