Staying calm pays off - close encounter with a bear

Funny, I wonder how the bear would have reacted if this guy freaked out and started yelling or something...

I think the bear was still fairly young and just curios. He was extremely lucky (the guy) and if it was me he (the bear) would have probably been sniffing the barrel of a 44 mag.

ahhh I guess I have no idea what I am talking about as I thought that was the mother. She seemed bigger then the bear in front of her when they were walking away...Then again I have never even seen a bear besides at the zoo

It's possible but I think if it was the mother she would have been a lot more aggressive. Mothers are typically not curious or forgiving.

^ that's correct. A mother would climb that tree with purpose, not curiousity.

I know it probably wouldn't have been the wisest thing to do, but due to the calmness of the bear that climbed the tree, I would've tried to pet it.

Didn't the bear seem kind of like just an overgrown friendly dog in that video?

That guy was a hunter and what u probably don't see is his finger on the trigger and the gun pointed at the bears head. Balls of steel yes, but guaranteed that guy was ready for anything to happen. But what a crazy video and experience to have and share something like that. Not many people in the world that up close and personal.

    Amazing composure.

The speed that bear climbed the tree would have been enough to freak anyone out.
