I used to be someone that said that not all muslims are bad, and im sure most aren't, but I hate the "blind eye" approach to this, not enough liberal or western muslims come forward and condemn this shit.
Can someone explain to me the gun policy of english police? I thought they didn't carry them?
Shut the gates and let the ATP (Anti-Terrorist Police) & SOCA round them up and deal with them,
We know who most are so lets arrest and deal with the issue instead of always skating around the main issues only to try and keep the peace, we are not getting peace its war on the streets.
They don't. British forces have an Armed Response Unit. They are called when they are needed, a sect group of highly trained firearms officers from each force.Quote:

Yes Kel, they are called when required. Some times they may get there before the shit kicks off sometimes not. Yesterday took around 20 minutes!Quote:

I agree that it should change, but if we give the rights to all police officers to carry firearms, where does it stop? There will be a lot more shootings, gangs will realise that they need to use theres more and its just a downward spiral. Guns arent that hard to get hold of in the UK if you know the right people. All plastic gangsters have them now.
My brother does security at a miltary site, and although they have Military Police on the gates, armed with SA-80's, there is a proper armed response unit on watch 24/7 and they literally sit, geared up in a rec room watching TV, they have a gym that they can use, but they stay in there gear (combats, weapons in side pouches etc). But there job is really to sit and wait, all day, every day.
The ARV thing sounds good but the "when needed" thing doesn't fly with me. Scary. The old adage comes to mind: "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."
The young man that was killed had been named. He was a drummer, aged 25.
I'm glad the conversation here is civilised. Other forums are full of folks spouting hate filled racial bile. Some real foul opinions.
Do any of you think this incident qualifies as a terrorist attack? Or does it seem more like a murder wrapped in a half hearted message of the moment?
