Scratching my head at this......................

So I am going through my newsfeed on facebook and I come across this post from a girl I know since I was about 18 or so (i am 34) and I clearly remember her going to clubs and parties and leading guys on by letting them buy drinks and what not. She was always a bit odd to me and had the personality of a gym sock to say the least but definitely cute. She is now a cop and single makes good money likes to show off on facebook so and so forth.

Today she posted this which I thought was retarded since every girl I have dated has been independent and I refuse to date a lap dog or a woman who thinks I am going to support. As a matter of fact my woman makes more than me income wise but my assets far exceed hers but it doesn't matter since we go 50/50 on everything so there is no resentment down the road on either one of our minds. I of course treat her and she reciprocates. I don't understand why this needs to be posted and what type of shitheads are you dating anyways that you need to let the world know this?? Plus grow up you are 33 and not some child it is the norm to be independent and not have someone spoon feed you :_1106:

What do you guys think of this or am I just overreacting?

Thouroughly agree with you here. I really hate all this "Im an independant woman, Im strong and support myself", Im all for equal rights in every aspect, but why do some girls feel the need to go on and on about it? I have several friend on my facebook that are single mums, all around 25 and they post this sort of shit daily.

I get it, you're proud of yourself for being a single mum, children are hard. I took her post differently. I took it as meaning that she doesn’t need someone to take care of her. Some individuals act like they own the person that they are with. Some want that person to quit working, “let me take care of you”. They use their taking care of the person as leverage so that they can control them. I have had PTs tell me that they are independent and don’t need a man controlling them. They have given me similar speeches to the post that she made.

I'm a kept man, I'm all for a bit of role reversal. As long as the house is clean and I look pretty..........

theres a lot of stigmas about single moms and women in general, some days they are in our face and other days a quite understanding.

There is really nothing bad about it but I guess I am just more of a humble person and don't need to let people know that "I am making it" and "I am not kept". She not only posted this meme or whatever you call it she posted some hashtags with the likes of "#onmygrind #moneymotivated #gettin it #otherstupidbullshit". She is BTW a police officer and I don't know what that has to do with her job whatsoever. Lol I am now starting to feel bad about talking about her so much but I want to respond to everyone's comments and be attentive.

My mother is one of my biggest role mothers next to my father and she is very independent. I also have to say my father would not be the successful man that he is without my mother by his side. I bitch about things on Facebook every once in a while but mostly use it for car stuff. I have around 600 "friends" that are all into the car scene so my feed is nothing both cars, motorcycles and hot chicks.

Nice to be back. Got really busy and disappeared for a few months.
