I never used AOL but I helped a lot of people who had it make it work properly.
you wanna get in the way back machine? I remember before hard drives were invented. My buddy worked for a techie company that manufactured computer parts. when the first hard drives came out, he brought one over for me and hooked it up. 10mega bytes baby!! FUK YA!!!

you know what you can do with ten megabytes? that's like being able to store 20 discs all at once.

    NOW WHO'S THE MAN?

I remember when a buddy of mine (long before I got into computers) showed me how he would boot with a floppy, then run some DOS commands and hack into computer game companies to steal new games, hack into banks to play with their AC on the weekend, gas stations to change the gas price on the first digital pumps etc. I went over one day and he was all in a panic throwing a lot of stuff away, erasing disks with magnets etc. he said he got a phone call from someone claiming to be with the FBI and they had traced his activities and were going to pay him a visit. He never got the visit but he stopped hacking. lol

He set me up with some cool phone codes to get free long distance and stuff like that. He tried to talk me into getting into computers but I said no Ill wait until they make them so they have pictures on the screen that represent what you want to do or use like some of the computer games in the arcades. He said that would be a LONG time if ever. He was using DOS. Not to long after that of course came windows 3.1 and 3.2 I got into it at 3.11 or 3.2.

The best part was when you recorded a game to the tape and your counter was off and so you recorded over the ending of the other program on the tape.

But it didn't take hours to load most programs. I mean how in depth of a program could you write when you were only dealing with 64kb of memory?
