    I have had that conversation also many many times. More proof that when it comes to women they are not from this world or from the same set of chromosomes as men. There is just nothing logical about them.

    Thus the saying Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Without thinning what I was saying when I said that once I added that I think she (my wife) was from a lot further way than Venus and she was from Uranus. It took about 2 seconds to realize what I said and I just broke out laughing. She didn't get it.

    Men enjoy fixing things. I would have either pulled the nail out while she was sleeping or rammed it home with a hammer. There is no reason for us both to suffer. You present us with a problem and we are going to try and find a solution. Most women present us with a problem but they get upset when you try to fix it. It’s really difficult for me not to try and fix their problems. It’s what I do for a living. I get yelled at, “don’t analyze me, (place your favorite swear word here) I only want you to listen,(usually follow by a comment about my mother) .”

    I have to tell/remind mine at least once a week that most all questions I ask have one or two responses. Yes or no. They do not require a 10 minute story about why she did or didnt do this or that. All I want to know is IF she did or didnt. Typically after the 10 minute explanation she has still not said if she did or not and it's my job to decipher the answer from the story.

    She got a little upset the other day because I stopped her from talking 3x in 30 seconds with her story and kept saying there is only one word I need to hear. Yes or No.... Finally I got a No and said thank you. After I got the answer I said now if you really want to tell your story it's fine.

    After my wife is done talking I simply ask, "is this something you want suggestions for, or help fixing?" and I help if she wants it. Sometimes I help by simply listening, apparently. Whatever makes her happy.
