    The recovery thread

This was inspired by a member here named 405

I think we should start this kind of like a meeting and just start with and introduction, name, nature of your disease and maybe a little background. Then we can open it up for any discussion that pertains to recovery, and
problems on a day to day basis because we all know sharing about it and talking it out works well.

My man, you need to change "decease" to "disease." It should be obvious from context, but still.

Who the hell is 405?? You mean "dash dash dash greater than greater than 405 less than less than dash dash dash" ?

My name is Austinite, and I'm addicted to strippers. I do them with great intentions, but it always backfires. When I seek help, people laugh at me.

I get it trust me, well my suggestion would be to stop going to strip clubs and messing with strippers which you may have already done.if its a sexual addiction they have place some people feel its stupid but sex addiction can get you killed to in a horrible way. I mention step work to people who have problem not just with alcohol or drugs the steps work for anyone in my opinion but in sure there might be people here with more insite on the subject.

I know the only cure is to not try to fight it and just give into my addiction and make it a lifestyle decision.

Addict in recovery here. Been clean since dec 19 2012. Main drug of choice was opioids. But u can throw in a shit Ton of other that I've destroyed myself on.

Life is so much fckin better now. I go to meetings at least 4x a week and try to live the NA principles.

Crazy cause yesterday dude in my office had a prescription on him for pain an offered. It literally went in one ear and out the other. Didn't think about it or fantasize the idea. Any addicts here will know what I'm talkin about. I'm so happy that it didn't bother me in slightest and I didn't crave it for the rest of the day.

What I have is way more important then a high.

I'm a grateful recovering addict. And I thought about posting this question. But since I'm relatively new to this site I didn't know where to post it. So I'll just throw it out here.

Question is this. Is AAS a relapse?

I live in south Florida. (recovery capital of the world) I also work as a Bht in a treatment center. I get this Convo thrown my way a lot. I usually keep my mouth shut on it. But I'm curious what you guys have to say about it.

Not sure if you're referring to a foot fetish or your love of shoes/high heels. If the latter, pics would be welcomed.

Edit. Sorry. This was intended to be a serious thread, but austinite's lustful obsession with strippers threw me off.

South fla here too my man. Def recovery capital of the country but also huge using area.

So to ur question, it's somewhat of a touchy subject. I think if u ask the average person in a program he/she will say it is a relapse. Because it is technically a drug and does have mood altering effects. And it also can have addictive properties, mentally. So being an addict it could become addicting very quickly. Also if u used to jab urself it could trigger u to relapse. But I think there's double standards when it comes to mood or mind altering drugs, ie people smoke cigarette and nicotine is a mind altering drug and the tar and shit in it kills plenty of people. Even caffeine, technically its mood altering so food for thought.

I was planning on running a cycle the end of this year. But decided to put it off until atleast next spring. Reason being I don't think I am mentally/spiritually/physically ready for it. So I chose to put it off until I think I am.

Yea I'm trying to live more spiritual and pray to a higher power. I've been procrastinating on my steps but I'm getting there.

Another anecdote, I bought a new phone and when I registered it and synced w my music ect it uploaded all old phone numbers and texts from dealers. I truly believe because of the work I've been doin in na that I was able to delete all the numbers and texts and not think twice about it. No obsession over them or desire to open that side of me up.

Now I just need to get all that info out of my iCloud. Fckin technology kills. Lol

That's exactly why I stay quiet on the subject. It is a double standard when they say it's a relapse for AAS but the newcomer who is drinking nonstop red bulls after just finishing two 5 hour energy drinks is ok. Or the old timers 13th stepping all the new females is ok. I was a IV opiate addict and the jabs with AAS don't affect me any (speaking for myself). Its 2 completely different types of jabs. Was curious if I was the only one who felt this way. Plus this forum seems to be more anonymous than most meetings.
