Conveting Fat to Protein
I was going to try a new raw dog food for my pet but the fat% to protein % is poor meaning more fat than protein. So as in any diet there should never be more fat then protein.
So I emailed the company this and they told me in dogs fat is converted to protein.
Which to me is the most ludicrous thing that I have ever heard in my life that now I am second guessing myself if I am right

Convert fat to energy efficiently, yes. Fat to protein? I think not.

I just looked at my dogs Diamond dry food, not cheap crap I might add.
Crude Protein: 26%
Fat: 14%
Fiber: 4%
It really pisses me off that the kind of fvckwits that give answers like the one Rwy got after taking the time to write a letter are allowed to be employed. No pet food company truly believes that dogs magically turn fat into protein, unlike any other mammal, and formulates their foods based on that premise. However, they obviously do not give a damn about your pets health. I'd pick a different brand

I sell petfood and well it's emm all crap tbh. Friend of mine feeds his dogs rice, veg and mince and or fish depending on whats on offer in the supermarket and you know what the dogs don't smell like dogs if you get me. Coats are stunning on them and they don't stink and are massively muscular lol which is mental.

A lot of trainers poor grease on their dog food. Dogs love it, helps their coat and gives them energy to hunt! But fat to protein negative. But in some cases and especially colder weather climates it is a value add.
