    Basic pistol or handgun course

Has anyone taken one of these type of courses? What did you think of it? How much did it cost?

If not, are you interested in such a course? (not soliciting lol )

I did when I was 14. I plan on having the wife take one soon. They are 100% worth the money. I have never heard anything about about them and they are inexpensive.

Isn't that basically what a ccw course is?

A tactical course would be sweet.. learn room-clearing, shooting while on the move, shooting at moving targets.. now that'd be a class I'd sign up for.

A lot of CCW classes don not require range time and don't teach even basic shooting concepts. They teach state law and sometimes basic safety.

My wife just too an intro safety course. She loved it. 4 hrs $130

I'm taking this one next month

The Concealed Carry training course is designed for the shooter who can safely load, shoot and manipulate his/her personal handgun and desires to improve the likelihood of prevailing in a deadly force encounter.

    Instructional topics include:
    • The four basic rules of firearms safety
    • SharpShooters USA range safety rules and video
    • Applicable laws as they apply to carrying a handgun
    • Methods of concealing a handgun
    • Drawing the handgun
    • Movement on handgun presentation
    • One hand drills (right and left)
    • The standard defensive response
    • Failure to stop drills
    • Life saving rituals
    • Multiple adversaries
    • Sequence of engagement

To receive the maximum benefits from the class, we require each student to provide the following:
    • His/her personal mid-sized handgun
    • Two spare reloading devices (magazines or revolver speed loaders) with appropriate belt mounted magazine pouches
    • A good quality strong side holster
    • 200 rounds of ammunition, at minimum

Course cost includes targets and reusable, souvenir USA eyes and ear protection.

    Intermediate level course
    4 hour course
    Maximum number of students: 8
    Cost: $130

I will let you know. It changed my wife's perception on firearms. Se actually prefers an auto to revolver now and is getting her concealed. Sexy.

In my state ccw class is mostly laws, and very basic safety, etc. You dont even have to shoot live. They have a laser pointer with snap caps to meet that threshold. I am currently signed up for a close quarter weapon retention class, and will then take some other tactical classes, such as weak hand shooting, on the move, finding cover, malfunction clearing, etc. Looking forward to it!!

I think the course here is very similar to this. may only be 50 rounds and cost is around $90-100.

glad to see that your wife is enjoying it
