People, other than the British, would still refer to us as 'Great'!

If you think it's going to improve you have another thing coming. I've been in healthcare since 18..... I work side by side with doctors and nurses. This won't be positive in the long run at all. There's been a whole thread - if not several- on this topic and I've expressed my feelings and experience with docs so I'm not going to repost all of itOriginally Posted by basketballfan22
Problem with US health care is its for profit and shareholders get rich from your demise.
Gixx do u have health insurance?
If not - did you request charity care before your procedure?
My friend has now had 2 hospital stints..... Costing $145,000 - he's also now on dialysis 3x a week.
I told him to request charity care..... He now owes no $$.
anyone wondered what it will be like if Egyptians conquered the world and we are all ruled by the pharaoh.
Just getting ready to leave hospital now after a 2 1/2 day stay, hate to think what the bill would be without insurance.

The government has ****ed up every program it's touched. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are ****ed..... The postal service operates in the red..... Social security and Medicare are fvcked...... And we hand them our healthcare system!
Actually...... WE THE PEOPLE didn't..... Because as far as I've seen..... The majority of Americans were against the bill. Oh well..... It'll all play out

U know what I never understood?
The great saying "united we stand..... Divided we fall" has been repeated over and over since those words first were mentioned - yet we still divide ourselves into political parties.
Why can't people just run for president and we decide who best suits what we believe in and want done. It all about getting elected and being paid off now
I disagree. A lot of the hate you hear is from very conservative people. The trend so far shows better rates. There will always be detractors, including those in the field (e.g. doctors and insurance company personnel). I don't think the fact that most developed nations, especially Western European countries, have universal healthcare is a coincidence. Perhaps, the very rich will still prefer the old system; but the majority of people will benefit. I too have talked to experts and read what others think, and I believe just assuming it will fail is incorrect. We won't know if it helped or hindered the American people until it has been around for several years. Personally, I am optimistic. There is no "winning" this argument until there are facts and data that show the effects.
