    dislocated shoulder!

Has anyone here had a dislocated shoulder?
If so, how long before you were able to lift again?

Yes. I wasn't lifting at the time. I never saw a doctor for it, set it back myself. Now I have some shoulder pain which was much worse until doing rotator exercises. If I remember, it was a good 12 weeks before the initial pain went away. Just do what the dr says and hit physical therapy and you should be good.

I have too. mine was diagnosed as a minor slap tear, or something. the tendon that connect from the collar bone to the shoulder assembly, i think it's the scapula, was torn.

it hurts aches like no other when i go to heavy on any press to fast and it aches slightly when i'm putting in serious effort at the gym. i've always got my eye on it. i could have surgery on it, but it's been since 2009 that it has healed and recovery from surgery like that takes 6 months-fuk that. i can do everything though even-though it's not back to 100%

skateboarding is stupid, lift weights... i used to skate all the time, literally. i've broken all kinds of shit and all have come back to bite me in the ass... i wish i would have never started skating. i'd say my mutant power is healing, my buddy is immune to small pocks, found out when he had to take the vaccine. no reaction the first or second time. i got another buddy, who's never had a cavity in his life. he's one of those genetically gifted with super hard tooth enamel.

Just recovered from my second dislocation. Go to a physical therapist and do the exercises your given religiously and you can be back in the gym in 3 months.

Yeah we used to concentrate on exercises that increase shoulder stability. I worked with a guy that rehabbed the Phillies pitchers and he showed me some really cool exercises that I should really start doing!!
