Why do kids keep posting videos of themselves committing crimes?

Well, we kind of know that they're stupid since they're committing crimes, but just how stupid do you have to be to videotape it? Youtube is packed with kids bullying other kids. Teenagers with graffiti. Theft videos. Illegally shooting guns, etc... They don't try and hide their faces either, some of them get right in front of the camera on purpose.

I don't get it. I'm guessing that they feel the need to be "Accepted" among their friends, and the popularity on social networks blinds them to potential repercussions. Sometimes I wonder, how a father would feel if he saw a video of his daughter being beaten up by a bunch of bullies. I wonder if any friends/siblings go after these people. And the number of teenagers you can see and hear on these videos laughing and holding up their camera phones is mind boggling.

I come across these videos once in awhile and can never really watch the whole thing. It's no wonder that kids go nuts sometimes. How crappy does an upbringing have to be for these kids to turn out this way? They sure have a whole lot more than kids did 30 years ago.

I usually, almost always blame the parents. But I'm starting to wonder if parents have much influence anymore considering all the exposure available to kids today.

Parents don't have much influence anymore in their kids and that's partially their own doing and society's. You can't use the belt on your son when he steals your car in the middle of the night to go party with his friends. It's child abuse now. And how many parents will side with their kids when they do all these crimes and deny it until the very end? Remember back in the day where if you even put bass in your voice when talking to your old man, you got cracked a good one?

We feared our parents and thus they had authority over us. Now parents are too busy with their own lives to worry about their kids and when they do, they try to be their friend. WTF does a kid learn from that?

the bullying kids videos, they actually get reported, many have been reported and have been taken care of by the police but sometimes doing graffiti or shooting guns, those kids do it to "look cool" in front of their friends, you won't probably understand it because this is the 21st Century while you have lived the 20th century, parents do their part but kids will still do these stuffs like i said to "look cool" in front of their friends, mostly when a kid doesn't act like what you said then he wouldn't be able to get a cool kid friend or stuff like that, the list goes on and i don't have time to type crap. lol peace

Kids wants their 15 minutes of Fame and they think this is how to get it. Also social media does give them what they think is fame and the fact that for the most part no one is getting punished or being held accountable for their actions/crime.

Well that certainly makes sense. I never liked being "whipped into shape", who does... but it sure as hell made me think twice before I screwed up.
