Car question
Stay with me while I try to explain. If you average 15K per year on a car would you:
A) buy a newer, low mileage (lower end) car or
B) buy an older (higher end car) with more miles
Example: would you buy a 2012 Chevy whatever with 25,000 or would you buy a 2008 Lexus with 70,000 (priced exactly the same).
The above is just an example.

Not sure..... But a higher end car is more expensive to fix - so make sure it's a good one lol.

I would get a 2010 Toyota with 40,000 miles. Don't they make Lexus anyway?

Yah I just meant why not split the difference on age and mileage and get something more dependable and cheaper to fix?

I'm really interested in trade in value at the end of ownership. Say 4 years later is the lower end worth more than the higher end due to the higher miles or would they essentially depreciate equally.

Regardless of the car, I would take 25,000 miles (which likely still has warranty) over 70,000 any day (which likely has no warranty)
By the time you sell a 70,000 mile car, it'll probably be at or over 100,000. That mileage number just kills the resale value. Used car shoppers are notorious for looking for anything UNDER 100k miles.
Chevy whatever sounds like an easy resell...~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

agree with aust and the warranty...it makes much more sense if the cars are the same price range.
I use to put a lot of miles on a car and I always bought a beater. I had another car but this one I always spent less then 2k and drove it into the ground
