lol, well.. when in doubt, a Honda never fails! But the dang Kia warranties these days are pretty attractive...

This is indeed the dilemma. Had someone sad Kia 10 years ago I would have laughed. With the new 2011 design by the same designer of Audi and the warranties, they have indeed stepped up their game.

While I don't disagree with your assessment of the Honda, you have the warranty situation backwards. Why would anyone offer a 10/100000 warranty if they expected it to be utilized repeatedly. That's not financially sound.

job i have a 2012 honda accord ex and i love it! i also bought my wife a 2013 honda crv and would like to note here that she has 120,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. i think kia is korean. honda has such a good reputation and has been that way for a LONG time.

go with the honda dude its the blue chip between the 2 IMO.

i always thought that japanese commands a price premium over a korean. so if the price is similar, better go for the honda.

although i personally hate honda. totaled my civic some years ago. of cause it was the car's fault.

I have a coworker that owned a Honda. He was always bragging blah blah blah this car will run forever. Yet it always had something going out. Clutch, fan motor etc. I always said to him any car will run forever if you keep fixing it. Kias used to really blow, the new ones IMO are very attractive and the warranty is Awesome. I personally would get the optima. Although I am an American car kind of fella. You look at the Cadillac cts?

what about one of those smart cars that could be good for you???

  17. #17
As a mechanic i can tell you Honda simply makes solid vehicles. But for me it would be price difference. If you can get the Optima a good bit cheaper thats the way i would go. I've seen no big issues with Kia besides cheap interiors.

that's a no brainer, Honda ftw. for me the resale value of a Honda is second to none. Kia's just loose value and overall worth. they are not bad cars and by no means is a Honda the best car on the market, but with this circumstance Honda is the weiner I mean winner.

    Honda all the way!!

I own a 2011 Kia Optima. They are awesome cars with great mileage that look sexy.
I shop around every brand but always came back to Kia.
The Optima is a very nice looking car with great options at unbeatable price with the best warranty.
Honda makes good cars but their styling is all wrong for me plus more expensive.

It was no contest for me . We drive 25,000mi a year and my Optima has performed flawlessly.

I just wish the Optima Limited was available when I bought mine.

If you want more Luxury check out the Kia Cardenza ( I think that's how its spelled )

As a senior member of a performance modified ford forum all i have to say is nethier!!! They are both NA 4 cylinder fwd boat anchors. In america you can get camaros, shelbys etc etc so many better options out there mate. Just think about it!!!!

A friend of mine only buys Accords, and frankly, I've always been impressed with the reliability.

LX or EX? The limited is nice but puts the price up there with higher end sedans.

I have always had Hondas and Acuras, but would take the kia optima over the accord in a heart beat. My friend has a 2013 accord sedan and my other buddy has a fully loaded kia optima SX and that car is simply amazing. Not to mention it's the only car I have seen in a long time that has an interior as nice as my fully loaded BMW 335i and half the price.

I find it hard to believe the price tags are the same. If they are the same then I would choose which ever my wife liked exterior/interior wise.
I bought my wife a soul (that's what she wanted) and she loves it.

Yea..... Hondas a great my ass. My company bought me an accord so I sold my other car. I had $2000 left to pay off so I gave it to my sister for what I owed.

I had the Honda for 4 months and the head gasket blew. I went back and forth with Honda until finally the HAD to fix it. They gave me every excuse and what it could be first.

The Honda is a bit higher but when you include options on the Kia to match the Accord, they are very close.

Those Optimas are sharp, but I'd go with the Accord hands-down. I've never owned a Kia, but I've owned a couple Hondas and they've been great cars. Can't go wrong with a Honda IMO.

Get the EX Job, the cloth interior is MUCH better quality than the LX.. i suggest u scrutinize the difference for urself! Itll hold up better, much more of a durable look and feel. Seems thicker.
