Obviously the guy is fụcked up in the head. But I'm curious what you all think of his speech. This is what he had to say:
Ariel Castro Speaks at his Sentencing - August 1, 2013 - Ariel Castro, the Cleveland man responsible for the kidnapping and rape of three women for more than a decade, testified at his sentencing hearing Thursday that, "I am not a monster.
"I'm a very emotional person so I'm going to try and get it out," Castro said. "I was a victim of sex acts, when I was a child. This led me into viewing pornography for my whole life.
"These people are trying to paint me as a monster, I'm not a monster. I'm sick. I'm impulsive," Castro said. " When I picked up the first victim, I didn't even plan it that day."
Castro said the daughter he fathered with captive Amanda Berry would call him the best dad.
"I have an addiction just like an alcoholic has an addiction," Castro said. "Most of the sex that went on in that house was consensual. There was times that they would even ask me for sex. These girls were not virgins from their testimony to me. They had multiple partners before me -- all three of them."
Castro, 53, pleaded guilty to 937 charges last week, including aggravated murder, rape and kidnapping, to avoid the death penalty. Under terms of the plea deal, he'll get life imprisonment, plus 1,000 years, with no chance for parole.
Castro kidnapped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight between 2002 and 2004, fathering a Christmas Day child with Berry. The girl is now 6. He also beat and starved Knight when she became pregnant, forcing her to miscarry five times.
