Thread: License suspended or revoked

    License suspended or revoked

I just got my Oregon ID reinstated by paying off all tickets that made it suspended. However I have like 3 tickets that will go into suspension in October. I am switching my license to Washington in a week. My question is will my new Washington license get revoked or get affected in anyway if those new tickets go through suspension?

Check out the Organon.gov site under the DOT/DMV page and you'll see what you need. Looks to me like Oregon and Washington talk to one another and share records.

You have to check and see what states WASHINGTON has reciprocity with. If they do not have reciprocity with Oregon then you will be fine.

However, there is one caveat to this rule. If you become suspended/revoked in Oregon and get caught driving IN Oregon, even on a Washington DL. You could still be charged. It's not your license per se that gets revoked, it's your privilege to operate a motor vehicle in that particular state.

Hmmm that's a good point. But if I got pulled over wouldn't they look up to see if my Washington ID was suspended not my old Oregon one?

Looked up online. If you have an Oregon ID and get a traffic violation in Washington, they can still suspend your license if you don't take care of it. But it doesn't say anything on the Washington DMV site about having suspensions or traffic violations in Oregon affecting your Washington ID.
