Happy birthday, dimebag darrell
Today would've been Dimebag's 47th birthday.... Still stings 9 years after losing another one of my childhood heroes.

One of their best songs and the only band I can listen to over and over when I lift brilliant band and never get old or sick of hearing their songs. When they broke they changed the scene like no other band before or since imo

Pantera was one of my favourite bands since I was a kid getting in to metal. I liked them way before Cowboys From Hell. Back when they had more of a Priest meets Crue sound. They are one of the few bands that never got old for me no matter how many times I've listened to them.

DIME was not only a cool guy but a great guitarist. I've been playing for 30+ years and still endeavor to speed pick as accurately as he could. You can make out each note in his fastest runs. Amazing guitar player.
Since I was a performer in the industry in the late 80's to early 90's I've hung out with many pros who were personal friends with him. EVERYONE I have spoken to has had nothing but kind words regarding Dime. He was a great person, standup guy, and a true loss for no good reason. Happy birthday brother!

Good memories. Saw them back in '92 when they opened up for SkidRow. I got up on stage and was kicked in the back by one of the members and pushed back off. When skidrow came out the put up barriers 15 foot from the stage. Couldn't even get close. Skidrow was booed off stage and most people left early.
