The 65 years old lady in the gym that pissed me off!

I was in the gym today using lat-machine, leaving all my stuff belt, water, clock-stop and towel on the machine/around it and I went (30seconds -1 minute max) away to look for a different rope/bar. When I got back a old lady was using the machine I was on.

Then I politely ask her: "excuse me can I jump in"

    She reply: I'm using it.

Then I said: well, I left all my stuff here because I AM USING IT.

She said: I didn't notice it, (with that look like get away) but don't worry I have one more set and I'll be out of your mind. ((btw my stuff was on the bech, she had to take it off!))

I replayed: you don't sound like someone who didn't notice it, it looks like you just don't give a damn. I let you use it only because you are old. And I left.

NOW let me explain that I am one who give the seat up to any oldies on pubblic transportation, but this lady really pissed me off! I need to handle my rage...and thinking that I'm not even on cycle now...I'm off big time.

Yeah, well here's the whole thing.... What were you going to do about it? It surely wasn't going to be kick some 65 year old broad's ass. And if you complained to management, guess who's side they'd have taken? There isn't much you could do except wait it out. Next time you go to the gym, eat some dairy an hour before so you could leave that broad a smelly fragrance when she pisses you off.

lol. Kind of funny. But in all honesty.... I would have moved your stuff and used the machine as well. I don't like waiting around.

That's a good idea. Diary make me a farting machine, perhaps 1 litre of milk then I'll get some fun!

Yeah I understand. Sucks either way. No one like to have their spot taken, and no one like to see items holding a machine.

I will say every time I've ever had to ride a crowded bus or subway, I've never given up my seat for some old fart or a handicapped person. They all get pissy with me when I refuse, but god damn it, they force me to Rosa Park their stupid asses.

I feel they can politely stand there. If I decide to get up, it's out of the kindness of my heart. Not because they feel they're entitled.

So? If I'm sitting that means I don't want to stand. And I sure as shit wont allow a bus driver to discriminate against me. He can put any sign he wants, I'm still going to sit where I want. Especially when you consider I pay full price to ride there and those old people and cripples pay a reduced fare. As far as I'm concerned, I have more right to sit there than they do.

    Sorry for hijacking the thread

Now I think I worked myself up in to taking back the advice I gave in my first response.

Tomorrow, if you see that broad on your machine, pick her up and move her. She needs to learn respect. You probably paid more for your membership than she did. So not only were you there first, you should have priority regardless.

Yes u can sit there, it simply means "please give up your seat for older people" but if you don't want to,
no one force you to leave.

On your first post you said you went to get another rope/bar, then on next post you said you went to do pulloups?? Which was it? In my opinion big difference. If you just went to grab a bar and come right back, rude of her. If she saw you of at another station working out I dont blame her for moving your stuff and taking over...not flaming just saying

x2. Use it or lose it. I would have moved his crap too. Besides, if you're willing to confront an elderly woman over a machine then you really need to check yourself...

There is such a thing as courtesy. In this situation I think the old lady should have asked if you were done especially if she just say you walk away for a second. Machines are easy to adjust so sharing works well too!

I dont stand still in the gym, Im always walking around between sets and doing 2 things at once. Ask first before you jump in especially when it comes to anything with plates involved.

I only really had a problem once. A group of teenagers where hanging out bs'ing on the cable machine and literally talking more then working out. I told them to go to starbucks, if the want to socialize cause some of us are here to workout! The next day one of the kids came up and apoligized and asked me for advice! No prob!!

Well la de freakin da to you!! Kidding! I use to have a lot of gym equip at home. I sold it to make space. (regret). However I enjoy going to the gym more then working out at home! More focused, gets me out of the house, gym bros and stuff. Just have to watch out for those old lady's!! ha ha

A few weeks back I had a little bit of a issue with some loser turd. This fool walks off for like 3-5 minutes, leaves nothing. I get on, this schmo comes back and is all "hey, I got one more". So I wait, as he does like 3 more sets - as I'm just starring him down.

The only props I gave this fool is he's as big as I'd wanna be.

Then he gets off and does the shit I was doing before I got to the cables. But, he does it with one more plate than me, just looking back with a nasty ass look. Fine fine, you're bigger than me - turd. . . LoL

    Atta boy!

I worked out at home since I was 18. My father and grandfather bought equipment over the years. Then a few years ago everything was updated. I have everything I need except for space.

I have no time to clean out everything that was left so I'm at a gym currently. I LOVED working out at home..... I've got pictures up on here somewhere. I'd even argue that it's more of a dungeon than Yates' gym. It's a 110yr old basement.

That basement made me who I am and ill never credit a commercial gym for what I've got.

Everyone and even the biggest guy at my gym always asks "are you done with that" and I always politely say yes, even if I have another set in. Im bad about taking long breaks in between sets, I just simply have to its how I train.

Just let the old broad go man, just walk it off and don't worry about it.

    I feel your anguish, lol
I try to use common courtesy when doing machines, when I finish my set I stand beside the machine, I just don't sit on the thing, anyone is welcome to jump on and get a set in. I love it when I'm using this courteous method then someone has enough gal to use it and just sit there like a fu cking idiot! and I have to actually say hey mind if I finish?

yea love to se that dungeon of yours. having equipment at home you hardly miss any workouts, especially in winter. all you have to do is walk 6 steps and you're there!

I am slowly building up more stuff so I can lift at home. I cant stand the fact that there are so many ppl NOT working out or even look like they work out. It is pathetic.

I had 3 teenagers using the cable tower for chest. I asked how many sets left they said 2. then moments later 2 more teenagers came to join in for a totally of 5 ppl on one machine. I was furious and walked away!

^^^ YES ^^^ Nothing more disgusting then the finding the bench with a big pool of head sweat on it! Gross! Im a little OCD when it comes to this. I carry around a bottle of disinfectant spray and towel before and after use!

I have that issue with a clown at my gym. It's even posted to put plates back and wipe off equipment. Fvcktard never wipes anything down. They don't put out the disinfectant and paper towels for nothing.
