Can't believe this eBay seller!!
2,800+ positive feeedback, only 2 negative feedback in the last year. I purchase Beats By Dre from this seller because of all the positive ratings. In the item description it said the item was authentic and the price for the item also suggested that. I get this piece of plastic junk today and it's so sad how fake this thing is!! Ridiculous!! It was going to my brother in law for his birthday but I can't give him this fake crap.
Sent the seller a message and got an automated message back that if I return it I will have to pay a 15% restock fee, that's $30 for this pile of sh*t!! I can't wait to get a message back from the seller and if they do not honor the FULL refund (yes I am paying shipping out of pocket but I am not paying 15% for their BS restocking fees) then I will do my best to tarnish their reputation by leaving a negative feedback for selling this fake junk! I can't believe somebody with almost 3,000 positive ratings would sell fake merchandise and describe it as real and authentic. I just want my refund back without paying for their stupid fees and everything will be ok, I will just never purchase an item from this seller again. Pathetic! Sorry for the rantLast edited by brazuka; 09-05-2013 at 09:26 PM.

Contact Ebay, they'll help you get your money back. They are basically on the buyers side more than the sellers. Also if paid with paypal contact them and open up a case with them.

Ok I feel much better about it now. Just opened up a report and explained to them how I should not have to pay the buyer a 15% restock fee for the item because it is counterfeited and was described as real, and the restock fee would be a lot of money for this purchase. Apparently the item is also covered by 'ebay buyer protection' so if I can't resolve this with the seller then I can call them and ask them to review the case and they should be able to refund me the full amount. Sickening how somebody with such a good rep would sell fake items for so much money and claim it to be authentic.

Ebay is f ucking garbage. I am blown away by how many people still use it. I sold 150 dvds a couple of months ago. I left two out and the buyer flipped out on me. I found the dvds offered to send and takes 20 bucks off. Guy went postal ended up getting ebay to refund the money to him which I knew meant something bad. He ended up stealing all the dvds and sent back 30 of them
Ebay's customer service is in another country so they are ****ing useless. They have all these odd and ends you need to click when you open up cases against people or they dont go through. I had to file a criminal report against this guy and it took 10 weeks to finish to get a lousy 150 dollars. IN his paypal transaction he used the name of his Corp which I run an info check on and found all of his personal information. I call him every couple of weeks to tell him what a dirt bag he is
I sold another 3 items and people stiffed me on the money. You then have to open a case and the first time I didnt click on something after the file was closed so I was charged by ebay for the first sale. I will never sell anything on ebay ever again. It is the biggest scam pos system on the face of the earth.

I buy and sell on Craigslist. Haven't sold on eBay in close to 10 years now. Ever so often I will buy some supplements on eBay, but they all from legit store fronts, not individuals.
Good luck, sorry to hear.

I been dealing with eBay for over 10 years and have never once been ripped off. I have personally sold over 200+ items. So the way I see it I am well into thousand ahead of the game. Even if I did get ripped off a few times I would still be ahead. You just need to be smart about who you buy from and look out for scamming signs.

I have been on eBay (both buying and selling) for 15 years, and it was a lot better before they decided to police everything. Previously, you did your homework and were careful who bought or sold to. Now, incidents like what thegodfather described are commonplace.
I once had someone buy a £4.5k handbag from me, and then wanted to return it because she claimed it was damaged. I knew it wasn't damaged, but she was claiming it wasn't as described and so ebay insisted I accept the return.
She fedexed me a box full of packing materials containing no bag and then claimed that fedex must have stolen the bag. What a nightmare. Now if I sell something larger I list elsewhere and have people pay via money transfer. Ebay and paypal were the engineers of their own demise.

I liked ebay before it became a site for stores to sell goods.

you must make it your life's mission to sniff out this person who wronged you and now your poor BIL. Do not eat, sleep, shit until this monster is brought to justice. Do not stand for it and rise up for those others who have also been cheated of their hard earned dollars with cheap Chinese or Taiwanese beats by dre.

Yeah I would contact ebay... But really you shouldn't have been buying Dre Beats anyways. Over priced for what they really are... sorry to hear you got screwed.

This is a shame, but it's ebay. C'mon. I don't trust anyone. So, ebay is not something I find appealing.

You sure about that? A lot items are only under warranty if sold by authorized resellers. My buddy got a brand new in box simrad multifunction display for his boat and it had an issue after 3 months. Sent it to simrad and they said it was in fact a manufacturer defect but would not warranty it because he bought it from an unauthorized reseller.
-
Your correct that not all sellers can start the warranty. Also all products are stamped with a production date which the manf can also use for warranty. I had a defective motherboard go out on me that had a 5 year warranty. I had no reciept but still sent it in for exchange. They used the product date stamp to replace the motherboard free of charge.Realist: A person who sees things as they truly are. A practical person. Never had an issue getting my stuff on ebay. Just got a lot of low quality stuff, but that was expected.

Sorry, you need to know how to play the eBay game. It's a shitty game, but it still works.
The only thing you need to do is call PayPal & bitch and moan. You will be out of the shipping cost and that does suck. You can also easily report the seller. But, it takes a few complaints to take a power seller down.
I bought a fake purse for the ex wife also from a super trusted seller. It happens all day long. . . . How they get that many good feedback, that I don't know.

I bought condoms one time that were used. Good thing you are able to use them a few times before they go bad.

Like said above people need to be smart when making/selling products online. I use to have a policy that if you didn't have 5 sales on ebay I wouldn't even allow you to bid on my products.

This. These people are stupid. Its not hard to figure things out. As I said before the guy that screwed me had his CORPs name as his user ID on paypal. So I was able to put everything together.
***The point system is flawed. If you buy something fake for $100 and you catch the seller. They will tell you they will give you $50 back as long as you still give them positive feedback. You want your money so you do it. Its how all of these car dealerships handle things. If you ever search a dealer from ebay online 99% they have 1000's of complaints.

I use to sell on ebay until it got so commercial and over run by scammers. My daughter tried her luck not long ago and has had nothing but bad experiences.
Craigslist is not much better. I get 99% scam emails in reply and 50%+ people who say they want xyz and will be over in 1hr are no show.

Fleabay sucks these days. I used to buy & sell item on there all the time years ago. Now it's full of commercial stores selling stuff barely cheap enough to make it a good deal if the shipping is free & the scammers are ramped. The scammers are some sneaky little fokers.
Craigslist is not a whole lot better than Ebay, but at least in my experiences buying & selling on there they have all been fairly decent. Meeting in person & not being able to hide behind a computer is a game changer, some good changes & some bad. No shortage of local news stories of people getting rolled when meeting up for a Craigslist deal. When meeting a buyer/seller you must be careful, meet in a very public place, take someone with you that can actually do some good if the situation goes south & if your state allows, you better be carrying concealed (open if your state allows & if that's your style). Oh, it's helpful if your proficient with your ole pistola, at least be able to hit the side of a barn, make that a small barn just to be safe.
Happy internet buying & selling to all!

Ain't this all the truth. . . . Dealing through eBay is a pain in the ass for sure.
The CL is a whole another nasty animal. I meet the craziest fvcks at the craziest times. The people I deal with in some cases are a total trip. . . . I bought shit from hookers, dealers and anything else you can think of. Sometimes I roll in two cars, meet em' first then get the cash brought to me.
A guy I worked with got robbed pretty bad, they took his clothes and shoes and just left him in the ghetto.

Unfortunately there have been a bunch of stories on the local news the past few months that sound just like your coworkers event. These A$$clowns doing these robberies via craigslist ads are lower than shark shit.
In the last couple weeks or so there was a story where these two women were listing homes for rent on craigslist all over the country. They would get these people to put down a deposit & they would never here from them again. One of the chicks worked for a real-estate company I think, that's how they were getting in the houses that they didn't own. The news said one guy had paid a few grand down & was moving his entire family down from out of state. He didn't find out the real deal until he, his family & all of their belongings showed up to move in & the person that just bought the house told them it was his house & not for rent.

Yeah you have to be careful for sure. I make sure to only meet people in public places and never go alone. Not only 2 people but with mechanical backup if I have to meet someone someplace I am unsure. Better safe than sorry.
DAMN that would suck.
