what is up with skinny leg disease??
Is this a new thing or had it always been this way? I've only been going to the gym (since my high school days) for 1.5 yrs, I usually do calves 2-3 times per week and always do legs on Friday, but 80 or more % of the guys at the gym and even when on the beach or something, have skinny legs and no calves, even guys who have amazing upper torso physique, wtf is going on here, I asked my buddy whom I train with why he only does legs every other week and he says, girls care about abs, not calves. Lol I must be the crazy one trying to have Arnold calves.

Holy shit I'm agreeing with Euro but he is right legs make ya bigger over all, most non serious gym will people will never do legs, but the people who this is not a fad but lifestyle will do legs if it kills them. I used do legs not as regularly as I am now as I have naturally big legs.
But they have really become one of my favourite days of the week as once you get that sore pumped feeling no other body part comes close

It sucks training legs lol I used to suffer from this disease as well. You have to be a bit of a masochist to really get a good leg workout in.

genetics have a lot to do with it imo. I have about given up on my calves, but my quads will grow, if I put them through hell. Im sure it can be done, but others respond better than some do. My calves just don't respond to training as the rest of my body does. Even aas doesn't help much. No one in my entire family has ever had big calves, and we are tall too, small framed.

I went to school with a guy. Huge upper body. Huge. Any time at the beach or at the pool when he wasn't in the water he wrapped a beach towel around his waist to cover his legs. Crazy
People are lazy. You don't see instant results on legs. Leg day is hard. Leg day makes you throw up. Leg day makes you hurt to walk 2 days later. Most people aren't ok with this. I love leg day.

I have a weird frame. Short torso, and long limbs. I have skinny arms and legs naturally. Really nice for mma and jiu-jitsu. Always worked well for me.

I think with legs, there is a mental threshold you need to pass, i see a lot of guys doing leg press with only 3 or 4 plates, that's ridiculous considering i fully rack the machine and i dont have big legs yet. they have the potential to do wayyy more.
but im glad to read im not the only one that is noticing the skinny leg disease.

the disease has nothing to do with legs. Its called 'lazy'.

I've always had decent size legs genetically and my quads could always shape up nicely. But, my calves were always one of my weakest points, they have good shape and a good split but those suckers were always very hard for me to grow. No matter how hard I trained them and I tried every possible way on this earth, they were always lagging. The best my calves ever looked and the most size I ever had on them was when I started doing all my cardio on a decent incline. In fact, I stopped training calves any more than 2-3 sets per week and did all my cardio on an incline and that was the best they ever looked. Still not huge like kelkel but it's what worked for me.

Something always works no matter who the person is. People that lack size on any part and just whine about it aren't working to put in the time and effort to find that thing that does work for them. I started at 6' and 135lbs. If I can put mass on my legs, anyone can.

It's rumored there's some decent pair of wheels in these parts. Everyone has a weakness, except for the few exceptionally blessed with amazing genetics. And for the rest of us...

I think most of those guys who are not training their legs are looking for that club physique.
They go to gym mostly for upper body. Not training legs is just retarded.

That's a little generalized. Most guys who are desperate to train their calves end up doing a bazillion sets a wk and use heavy weight and nothing happens. That might have worked for you but it doesn't everyone, in fact I'd say that's the perfect way for it NOT to work for most people.

chicken legs otherswise known as "jail house" legs lol, because guys in jail/prison can do push ups and pull ups about anywhere your imagination will not limit you so guys come out after years of training upper body only. For the rest of the general public 75% it's plain laziness and they just don't want to train a hard core exercise like squats. And least but not least those few who have genetic issues.

Personally if you train everything equally u should squat 1/2 more than you bench.
