New to bodybuilding, question on getting bigger

I am 200 lbs 6'1 and my friend is taller and about 230 lbs naturally, he doesn't lift. Can a person with years of bodybuiling get bigger than someone who is naturally bigger and taller who and doesn't bodybuild? Can a 200 pound person become bigger than a 230-240 pound person with hard work and decent bodybuilding genetics? or will they just become more muscular and not actually bigger.

    thank you

I'm not understanding the question. Being more muscular would mean being bigger wouldn't it?

You won't get taller but u sure as hell can get thicker and wider

I think it depends on your definition of "big". I see fat dudes every day that are "bigger" than me. Also depends on how far you pursue bodybuilding but yeah, you can get bigger than your friend.

When I started lifting I was about 135-140lbs at 6'. Skeletor, bean boy, skinny bone jones were.common names for me. Now I'm 235. Nobody calls me those things anymore. Weird. Eat. Eat more. Train. Eat again. Eat. Eat. Sleep.

Do that every day for a few.years. You'll get bigger than your friend but he will always be taller.

The biggest guy doesn't always win the show. Conditioning plays a large part. Think of the bodybuilder on stage who after dieting down and losing a large percentage of body weight "appears" bigger, even though he's actually much lighter. Don't worry about the scale!
