    volunteer programs?

    I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good volunteer programs go to overseas short term to help the local community out doing whatever? i been interested in doing some volunteer work for a while, but i dont want to join some corrupt organization which i know they are many.. i dont want to volunteer for a organization that is pocketing money.. any ideas, experience? thanks

    There are a lot of them out there. If it was me I would try one of the church groups. Different churches are always going in trips to build schools or churches or even putting in wells.

    I'm trying to donate my time at a shelter this year for thanksgiving and I'm trying to set up some kind of toy drive in my daughters name for needy kids for Xmas

    Red Cross is a good place to start. They're affiliated with other groups as well they can refer you to for volunteer work. My wife does it from time to time.
