Agreed. The depth of stupidity clearly has no boundaries or limits. Unf***ing believable.

She says she doesn't regret it, smiles and asks about her food stamps. Other people are visibly shaken and she is cool as a cucumber. "Gotta find my purse"

Just another reason in a long list of reasons why I didn't follow the footsteps of many men in my family and chose NOT to go in to law enforcement. I would have hauled her negligent ass in and charged her with both neglect and abandonment of minors.

Than how can you respond to the thread if you don't know what's going on? Food stamps were the topic and how she reacted to hers being burnt up instead of the kids. Why don't you stay on topic

I no that the thread is about peoples reactions to tragedies and people being more concerned about there possessions rather than there community. But you have to go off topic with a sly remark about me giving stamps to some bird. Maybe just leave me alone.

Food stamps are kind of like centrelink payments except only good for food.

That's pretty close euro. The government gives food stamps to people rather than money. Food stamps are like money that is only accepted at grocery stores. The idea is that it forces the people who have them to use them on food instead of drugs or entertainment.

Sounds like a good idea better than giving out money. Do people try to sell them?

It is illegal to leave a 2 and 3 year old alone. I wonder why both of them didn't get arrested. Drop off a friend my a$$. They went to meet their crack dealer. Why did they both have to go?

I actually was in law enforcement. It's this kind of crap that made me realize I was the one who would end up in jail for shooting people like this so I got out while I could.

Yeah, but people just will sell $100 worth of food stamps for $50, so it doesn't really work.

Absolutely sickening. She's probably higher than a kite. Maybe those kids are better off now. What kind of a screwed up life awaited them with this crack head raising them?

Yeah and it really hurts the program's image. The majority of people who use them, financially need them. It comes from good intentions, but with all the corruption and fraud that makes headlines, nobody sees the good it does.

I still think there should be changes made to the program. It'd probably cost a higher initial investment though. But what they need to do is make the stamp program accessible only to those willing to comply with rehabilitation. The entire program should just be a 6-12 week course to feed them while they learn a trade that is in demand AND makes them capable of holding higher paying employment.

Just giving somebody a handout doesn't do any real good for them and they will always be dependent on you. They need hands up so that they can help themselves. It's the old "teach a man to fish" proverb.

You hit the mail on the head. A coworked I had would get a book of food stamps because he has 3 kids and low income. He'd goto the city and sell $70 of food stamp for $30-$40 and buy booger sugar with it

They still exist but they have so many loopholes that people never get jobs on them.

Give a woman a meal and she will be fed for the day. Give a woman food stamps and she will vote Democrat for life.

I wish I could say this surprises me. This same situation happens way too often.

If Memphis FD Arson Division can prove that she was at fault for the fire starting (for example leaving food cooking on the stove or her crack pipe torch burning) she will be charged & face years of prison time. At the least Memphis PD should charge her with child abandonment/neglect, that's prison time also.

I hope Tennessee has the death penalty.

What you saw in that video was not the reaction to a "tragedy". That's what happens to the human brain when a person sits on their A$$ being a bourdon to society living off tax payers smoking crack/meth/dope/wet or God knows what narcotic.

They went to drop of some dude.. and left the kids at home. Can you say CRACK....

Yet another reason to reform the welfare system and let natural selection or survival of the fittest do it's magic and do a little gene pool cleansing.
