No one except out night owles, and the people on the other side of the pond who our night is their days.

You should know by now you NEVER get use to it. You only adapt to it. I have been working it for years also. I work 12 hr shifts so it's 3 days on one week, 4 days off and 4 days on the next week, 3 days off. It's tough trying to switch back and forth. Sleep apnea, insomnia, sleep deprivation. It sucks. I go days with no sleep and then when I sleep I hurt after 4 or more hours of sleep. Only just figured out I have Fibromyalgia. Now that I know hopefully I can figure out what will help.

Yeah, I've been on third shift for over a decade. I like it. Crowds don't like me, I don't like them. Works out well for me.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

I have done 8s, 10s and now 12s. I like the 12s better for some reason although it is harder to switch back and forth. I like the 3-4 days off a week.

Yeah our nights vs their days was my downfall letting me chat with my current wife for almost a year all night wile I was at work on nights and her at work on days before going to the Philippines to meet her. lol

It has it's advantages and dis advantages for sure. I like the shift differential pay also. 23%

I have worked shift work for many years, you never really get "used" to it. It has it's ups & downs but I could never work a 9-5 job, that would kill me.

I cant imagine leaving my house in the morning and going to work.
    Screw that.
Nights work well for me. I LOVE going to stores when everybody else is at work.
I get by on 4-5 hrs of sleep a day.

the best part about shift work is the extra days off & the days off mid week were you can just kick back knowing that 90% of other people are hard at it lol..

the downside is you spend your days off trying to get sleeping pattern back in order ready for your next day shift.. i work 12hr days & 12hr nights..

steve kulclo (is that his last name?) works 24hr shifts in the fire dept bless lol atleast he can sleep at work when things are smooth tho..
