Your smart, but wrong on this one. DC power, especially extra low voltage (0-30v) wont short circuit causing function. At best, it would short causing a blown fuse, but highly unlikely since window switches are momentary physical contact switches and not electronic switches. When the vehicle is in water the external pressure is greater than the internal pressure. Air is lighter than water. Once the vehicle became filled with water, the pressure equalized and the door was able to open. After the girl came out, the door was easily closed by currents in the water. Mystery solved.
