Nope, but the sound of the skull joints popping and cracking as they shift slightly from the pressure on the sphenoid bone is pretty awesome. Kind of feels like your head is exploding from the inside out!

Just be glad I'm not up there. I'd do the sinuplasty for ya!!! Hopefully the first treatment clears everything. Sometimes 3 or 4 treatments are required.

I'm more concerned about it being temporary and needing done repeatedly.

It's not uncommon to be repeated but if its recurring often, surgery would be a strong recommendation.

Thats what I'm thinking. I dont see how it would be permanent and it's likely the infection will come back but even it it doesnt it will close up again.

I had nasal surgery 3x. Last time they took out part of the bone/cartilage so it wont break again, mostly only bend. lol

I still close up a little sometimes but not bad like before. It's not perfect but much better. Just do like I did, do a George of the Jungle. 1st time a rope swing into a tree. lol 2nd time was just to re open it a few years later. 3rd time was 1yr old daughter rocked backwards hitting my nose with the back of her head. She though it was funny of course.

Mine are clogged to do a virus or bacteria so I'm hoping if they can get opened and flushed out, the cause will be gone as well.

It can recur. Some are prone to "relapses". Hopefully yours is a single occurrence.

Fingers crossed. They said I likely got a cold and the virus just stayed in the sinuses and continued to resist treatment.

tried 2 rounds of antibiotics, nasal steroid spray, and steroid shot (not that kind lol). Been dealing with it for nearly 4 months. The sinus cavities are all packed full like cement.

Have you done warm saline flush? You can do them at home 1 or 2x a day and a neti pot to try to open it up. I know Afrin can be addictive but if you do a combination of Afrin, saline flush and neti pot it may open things up.

I know sinus infections can be a pita. I have had them last months also then they finally clear up.

A lot more resistant bacterium and viruses than there used to be. I've treated patients with 3-4 rounds of ABs just to knock out a stubborn strain of bacteria. Nasal spray and nasopharyngeal irrigations have limited success. Corticosteroids work in 70-75% of patients.

The sinuplasty should bring some relief almost immediately. You may feel a bit light headed the day of and day after the procedure. That's common.

I have not. I mentioned flushing to the ENT and he seemed to think that the degree of blockage I have would not be effected by flushing alone.

Side note....I had a middle ear infection 4 years ago. Knocked out 95% of my hearing for 6 weeks. Scared the heck out of me because I was clinically deaf during the infection. Makes you appreciate your hearing when you lose it for a while. 5 rounds of antibiotics to treat it successfully. One ENT told me I had arthritis of the middle ear and needed surgery to remove most of the bones of my middle ear and replace it with a transduction device. Stupid bastard. My tympanic membrane was inflamed, swollen, and had very little elasticity during the infection. Completely asymptomatic for the surgery he recommended. Should have filed a medmal on that imbecile.

Maybe not but it couldnt hurt. I have an OLD water pick I set up for doing this at home. I have not done it in years but it did help when things got really bad for a few months.

First I use Afrin to open things up, then I use WARM distilled water, Epson salt and a little baking soda for the flush.

My hearing is pretty wacked as is my smell and taste. I'm hoping I wake up and feel like a million bucks. I'm sure I have been missing valuable sleep at night.
